: 2010 Armada
phillip 08-19-2010, 02:33 PM Just bought a 2010 Platinum. We're going Saturday afternoon to pick it up. First Nissan for both myself and my wife. Traded in a 2004 Acura TSX because we needed more room -- we have a 14 month old and a new one due next month.
Any advice on anything to watch for?

The tires are pretty crappy if you will be getting into snow and ice. Other than that, mine has been flawless.
randyward 08-19-2010, 03:27 PM Make sure the dealer has filled up the gas tank! Nothing specific that you would wouldn't look for in any new car. My 2010 is my 2nd Armada, and I had a Pathfinder in between--you should love the truck. I sure do.
If you plan on keeping it a longer while, consider the extended warranty. I got the 7/100 Gold thru the dealer for about $1750, but it was a hard push.

wallykski 08-19-2010, 05:24 PM Only thing I had was the recall on the front suspension. Make sure that is checked out. The only way to tell was hitting a small bump at speed and it feels like the wheel wants to jerk out of your hand. I also did the air box mod, which adds a sweet sound pass 3k RPM.
wallykski 08-20-2010, 09:10 AM As for the tires - I have the Michelin Latitude Tour HP - Tirerack.com rates them pretty good - Link here (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?tireIndex=0&autoMake=Nissan&autoYear=2010&autoModel=Armada+4wd&autoModClar=Platinum&width=275/&ratio=60&diameter=20&sortCode=60065&skipOver=true&minSpeedRating=S&minLoadRating=S&tab=All). Traction in deep snow is only "good". But with 4 x 4 on the Platinum, I don't think it will be a huge issue. We will see this winter!

So, first impressions on your new purchase?
drauden 08-22-2010, 07:47 PM Watch out for having more kids now that you have the room!
Welcome aboard.

Leisina 08-23-2010, 06:00 PM congrats on the new ride........Get a bug visor as soon as possible...
phillip 08-24-2010, 08:49 PM First impressions -- very nice vehicle. Super roomy, especially when compared to the Acura TSX we traded in. I'm six feet tall, and I cannot reach the passenger door unless I lean halfway across the center console -- not something I'd like to do while driving.
I need to program the Bluetooth stuff to my iPhone. There's no way I want to answer a phone while driving the Armada.
We really like it and are very happy with our purchase. Now I just have to figure out the remote start thing to get my wife off my back. The Expedition had it, but the Armada "looked" better.

good luck with it. It's funny because my 2 yr old is what made me get mine.. I had a pathfinder but once we had the baby the pathfinder got a little cramped. ( the 3 rd row seat in the pathefinder ruined it IMO)
The biggest problem I had in the Amada was trying to figure out the DVD system. I couldn't get the radio ( or cd's ) to work at the same time my kids were wtching a dvd. Very user unfreindly . Hopefully they made some changes there. Anyway congrats on the truck and kids !

Well, as far as I know, reason for that is safety problem. They don't want you drive and watch DVD at same time. That's dangerous. However, you can rewire it though.

huh ? I'm not talking about ME watching the DVD. I'm talking about my kids in the back. I'm not a fan of watching a dvd while driving. ( or parked for that matter ) .. ;)

lol....okay...I thought you were talking about watching DVD together with kids.
The problem you have, do you let your kids have the headsets on? My situation here is, unless using headsets at rear so that I can use my own radio or other. If they didn't use headsets, I can't listen my the radio.
wallykski 08-25-2010, 08:04 AM fgsflash is right - In my 2010, you must hold the headphone button on the radio to turn on the headphones to let the kids listen to the DVD through them, which then separates the front audio. Once the DVD is playing, you can then change the mode on the radio to whatever you'd like. Unfortunately, the Armada radio doesn't allow you to have to zones of different audio, unlike what I've seen on mini-vans.
davidw 08-25-2010, 09:46 AM thx guys. I've had it figured out for some time now. It was confusing to me when I first got the truck. THe pathfinder system was much more user freindly but I did get it figured out soon after I bought the truck.

I have struggled with that in my 2005 since day 1. My wife usually gets it to work after pushing various buttons on the dash. That is only on long vacation drives. I normally just "listen" to the movies with my kids. It should be easier IMO.
Leisina 09-09-2010, 12:43 AM I know every Dora song and line of every episode....because I cant ever get mine fig'd out! I have to listen along to my girls movies.......
