Found a number of references here where members like the posi quiet pads. Found a site here: http://www.autoanything.com/articles/brake-pad-comparison-oem-aftermarket.aspx
Says break in is not required due to their manufacturing processes where they burnish the pads.
I also read a linked page describing why techs say rotors are warped when they aren't and that symptoms are preventable by proper break in.
So I'm curious. What do you think?

I really like my ceramic posi-quiets. Not a speck of dust and they work great.

As far as warped rotors being preventable... if you are starting out with garbage rotors to begin with, you are in for a tough task. The Armada's had garbage rotors, IMO.

I purchased my '07 used with 35k on it. The OEM rotors were slightly warped when I bought it. About a month into owning it, they got noticeably worse. Had them turned down and 3 weeks later they were warped again.

The time from being turned down until they warped again, the vehicle was not heavily used and not heavily braked. So, either the Armada has substandard quality rotors, or there is a bunch of people on this forum that don't know how to brake.

I'm a firm believer in seating the brake pads. It really doesn't take that long (at most 500 miles), that way you can be sure the pads are broken in properly.

I am happy with my Posi Pads and R1 rotors! I have about 200miles on them now and they are awesome!

Sorry, I was inquiring about the break-in not being required on these.

For those of you that chose posi-quiets with new rotors, did you break-in your pads or just slap them in and drive away? And if you didnt do the break-in, do you normally do it and decided to skip it because the manufacturer says its not necessary?

I still did the break-in procedure with them. It's quick and painless.

I just slapped them in and drove away with no regrets... The reason for not breaking them in is simply because there is nowhere around here that I can repeatedly brake 60-0 several times without causing a huge pileup and/or getting a ticket... Whoever dreamed up that process must've had a private race track or lived out in the boonies or something... Besides, it doesn't make sense to me why that would build any more heat than my daily stop-n-go commute does...
