Is the a drastic difference in just the 2 degree advance and one of the programmers?

It's a BIG different. They are not even in the same category.

Back in the old days when there was nothing available, some of the members found that advancing the timing by 2* will yield a few hp/tq. but it is nothing compare to a "tune" in which the timing curve can get very aggressive not just +2*
and for the Titan folks removing the WOT restrictions is the biggest difference
