So our 1 year old really likes the DVD player -- which basically means we have to listen to Sesame Street or Barney because he doesn't like the headphones. Is there any way to control the DVD player from the front? As it is, my wife has to perform a lot of contorsions to get into a position to aim the remote control so the rear unit picks up the signal. And an almost 9 months pregnant woman trying to do that just isn't a good thing.
Thanks!
We have had the conversion done which allows us to view the DVD display on the nav screen while driving. A benefit of this mod is that we now have on-screen touch control (on the nav screen) of the DVD functions.

How would you go about doing that mod on 2010 Platinum?

Give this a try! Just point the remote at the back window and use it as if you were pointing it at the player screen. Believe it or not, the back window will reflect the IR signal (just like a mirror) and the player will read it just fine.
You can also control the DVD player manually though you can't see what's going on while driving (unless converted), by using the circular knob W/the vertical & horitzontal buttons. If you push the button on the entertainment control that says cd/dvd the manual screen control will come up then you just follow the prompts.
