: Right side trailer brake light and turn signal do not work!!
PS600REVX 09-20-2010, 01:24 PM Greetings. Let me start by saying that I checked numerous topics on this site and online and could not find a definite answer to my problem. I have a 2008 LE so tow is standard. I checked all fuses under the hood and they are good. I swapped the RH and LH relays under the hood just to see if one was bad. The problem didn't "switch sides" so that is not the answer. I've read about the wire conversion but I believe that dates back to before my model year. Any other possibilities? Not sure if there are any other fuse locations on an 08 besides what is under the hood? BTW, this forum is sweet. I just bought the Mada a month ago and already had the Bilsteins installed and have about 100 other mods planted in my mind. Thanks for everyone's help.
PS600REVX 09-20-2010, 01:33 PM Oh ya, I'm pulling a 30 ft TT and a 4 place snowmobile trailer and the problem happens with both. Just in case anybody thinks I am stupid enough to not check 2 trailers! LOL. Thanks.
Are you sure that the problem isn't in the trailer?? That one fuselink relay is the only one for the Right Brake/Signal so you'll want to confirm there's power to the hitch plug, it's the Green wire... If you are getting power to the plug then make sure that trailer light is grounded well if you know for sure it's not the bulb..

I would use a test light in that relay plug then to make sure it's getting power there in the IPDM... If not, it might be your BCM which should be covered under the 36k warranty.

you mean the blue relay under the hood labeled RH trailer? ok will do but I'm not familiar with the terms IPDM or BCM? And I guess I could test the RH turn wire close to the 7 pin plug? You said green wire? Ok, maybe if I see I am getting power near the plug it could be a bad plug.
davidw 09-20-2010, 02:44 PM I had so many trailer light issue's. Nissan replaced the trailer outlet once already as it did not pass the test they did. All of my other problems have been with the trailer itself. I finally went to LED's on my trailer and I've been problem free ever since.

so did they ever find what the issue was with your Mada or was it all trailer issues? I had one trailer checked with another truck and perfect and as I stated before, I have the same problem no matter what trailer I use so it's safe to say it is the Mada.

It was the outlet on the truck. They replaced it and it's been fine. In the center of the outlet ( on the truck ) is a circular prong right in the middle. Well the clips in the center of the adaptor didn't make good contact so I had to pinch them together everytime I hooked up my trailer. that was just one of my many trailer light issues. Once I did the LEDs ( with all new wires ) it's been perfect...

davidw 09-20-2010, 04:54 PM Does that mean that the center prong had nothing to do with my issues ???
I feel dumb ! :crikey:
David, I don't know how accurate that 7-prong map is other than being upside down... Our wires are labeled on the plug cover so you can double check it there... I just know that 4-prong wire map matches the modern standard to a Tee....

Yes. The center contact supplies 12 volt power to the trailer, to operate trailer accessories and to charge the trailer battery, if one is used. The power is active only when the key is on.
davidw 09-21-2010, 08:46 AM Its strange because I had no power to one of the trailer lights and I happened to pull into a pep boys for someone to check it. He squeezed the center prongs of the adaptor cord and viola , it worked again. just a coincidence I guess.
