Hey Guys,
Have any of you replaced the seals in the rear dif (rear final drive assembly)? I found a leak in the side seal (driver side shaft). I checked the oil level and it's still good, but don't like the idea of having it leak.

The replacement process appears simple enough. I was wondering if anyone has done this work, what did you use to pull the axle hub from the dif? What did you use as a drift to set the new seal?

The factory service manual shows (4) "special" tools (axle stand, slide hammer, drift of specific size and some alignment tool) used for the seal replacement. Where can i get my hands on these?

Thanks in advance!

Good question!!! I wonder if it'd be easier to remove the Diff to work on it or just leave it in place... I'd be tempted to at least disconnect the flange on the other side and maybe the driveshaft to keep the other pinion seals from getting damaged while working on it...
