I am going to be relocating to Boston in Feb of next year. I was contemplating getting aftermarket rims, but I heard because of the cold weather up north that its not advisable. Chrome rims are extremely prone to corrosion. I would get polished with clearcoat as a first choice if you plan on driving around road salt. I had chrome on my vette and had to drive it once in the winter. When I got home I rinsed the rims with a hose(with snow all around) and washed the car 2 days later. They had already started to corrode. I backed the Armada into the ocean to launch my ski and rinsed off the rims later that day when I got back. I washed them two days later and had to spend 2 hours polishing them to get the corrosion off. Just the way it is. ;)

I heard it's not good to keep them on during winter months.
I'm from NY and most people around here take them off in the winter......sometime in NOVEMBER. They get pitted....I guess because of the salt? Not too sure if the salt is the ONLY reason.

I guess I will be holding out on getting rims now. At least until next summer.

GOOD IDEA. get them when you have the WHOLE spring and Summer season to show off the Madas NEW SHOES! ;)

I would absolutely wait till you get there and live there for awhile. Reason being is that Boston is one big construction **** hole. I work in the bus transit industry and Boston's roads rattle the busses apart. Before you spend big bucks you need to look at the actual road conditions.
