Love this forum. Been able to, through all you members, solve all my issues so far. I'm hoping you all can help with this one. I have a 2004 Armada LE that I purchased a month ago. My wife has been driving it since I brought it home from the dealer with no complaints. We decided to venture to the parents house for Thanksgiving 350 miles away with me at the wheel. Prior to our trip I took the Armada, which showed a nearly empty fuel tank, to the station to fill her up. Strange thing is it only took 19 gallons...I thought the tank was a ~29 gallon one. We made the 350 mile drive with the fuel gauge showing empty and the low fuel warning light on. I filled up the tank again and this time the Armada took 19 gallons once more. I've heard of a recall on the fuel level sensor but from what I understand the recall is for a situation that is opposite of mine, you run out of gas with the gauge showing 1/4 - 1/2 tank. Any ideas why I still have 10 gallons of fuel when the gauge shows empty? Bad sensor? Did Nissan implement a 10 gallon safety buffer?

Thanks for the reply. I've also noticed that the fuel gauge never quite made it to full on those two fill ups. The highest I saw was between 3/4 and 7/8 of a tank. With the low fuel warning LED coming on around 1/8 - 1/4 of a tank it makes sense that the fuel gauge in the cluster could be interpreting the fuel sender voltage incorrectly. I thought it might be the fuel sender but it could be on the other end as well.

There is a technical service bulletin on this issue. Take your armada to the dealer to have them fix it via the recall.

Rockendoublez, I've heard there was a TB on this but I have not been able to find it. I've located a couple dealing with 2005+ Armadas. Do you have a reference?
