First off, this is my first post here, I just bought my 06 last week and just started doing some mods. I had been waiting to get one for awhile and have some things in mind.

Anyway, I don't like the color of the guages, the off yellow. I was going to change them to something else but I wasn't sure if anyone has done this already. I hate duplicating posts, especially when your new, but I couldn't find anything. I would need to do this to every button, but mostly just the radio, ac controls, and the gauge cluster. Ive done this for other people on other cars, but not an armada. I used to change the color of the needles and gauges in scions. If anyone has ever done it let me know, otherwise I will post how it goes and what you need when Im done this weekend (after doing every other little thing that needs to be done.

Thanks man, I just happen to have these LEDs at home for some odd reason. Im gonna try and do the radio and AC, although the knobs are a problem becuase its a orange plastic insert on the knob that makes it orange. I would have to find some kind of blue plastic to put in place, or white with blue LEDs.

Man this would include the switches and in the door too and every button. Hmm, that might take a weekend or so but its got to be done. I plan to start tearing it apart anyway tomorrow to wire in my phone docs power and a USB port Im putting in. I hate cords running everywhere.

Thanks again for the info. I already ordered new headlights, taillights, a grill, 7" screen for the CarPC I already had from my previous car. I have a feeling Ill be putting some money in my new baby.

Welcome to the club. I agree the stock color matches nothing I install aftermarket.

Apparently the reason for the amber is to prevent night blindness. Red is the color that least affects night vision, but since it is reserved for warning lights amber is the next best color.

That said, I don't know of any studies that have proven people are crashing / not crashing their cars due to the color of the cluster. Moreover, the orange is ugly as sin.

If I were going to go through this trouble it would have to be all or nothing. Please post pics if you tackle this!

VW and Audi both have red lights

Ive seen blue which is what I wanted to do, and have done it on some Scions in the past, but the Armada is something much more because of the amount of buttons and displays. I plan to do it but I need a weekend to do it. I like the blue, plus you have the knob to turn down the brightness. I haven't had the time to take a switch apart to see but I don't think any of the LEDs are amber but white, just an amber cover. Don't get me lying, but thats what I think. Ill know this weekend, Im going to take a few apart and see, I need to take the center console apart anyway, I got my 7" VGA touchscreen in today and am going to install a CarPC in the Armada. Still debating on buying the trim for the screen which is 200, or molding my own so it will bring the screen a little closer and straight.
