: Aftermarket Grille
ARMADAbfly 08-15-2005, 08:29 AM Which Nissan aftermarket grille is the least pain to install? I am generally a DIY person around the house, but not necessarily automobile DIY savvy, but I want the look. I bought a Carriage Works Grille (4 pieces, which had many nuts and bolts), took it to an auto body shop for install and they wouldn't touch it. I have since seen an E & G model and T-Rex (I think both look more polished) so I plan to return the CW and buy one of those. Has anyone installed either, and is it difficult?
92TripleBlack 08-15-2005, 09:37 AM There are two types, zip ties and inserts. The zip ties go over the stock grills and the inserts require you to remove the grills and insert them into the stock holes. The zip doesn't look quite as good as insert and may rattle. You pick what you want. Ask makers how they install. ;)
inqui-Z-tor 08-15-2005, 10:44 AM The one's made by dunder23 (go to clubtitan.org) are nice .. mounts directly over OEM grille (you don't have to remove the OEM grille) .. bolts on via clip washers and nuts over studs.
Look for my thread in this area .. you'll see pics of my "spicerweb" grille and info about his other grilles ..
3100GPSE 08-16-2005, 08:46 PM the one we got off ebay bolted on. it was really easy to install, just remove the factory grill and put 2 bolts into the rad. support and 2 in the bumper. Best part is we have'nt seen another Armada/Titan around with this grill

I have a 4 piece E&G polished grille. My husband installed it in a 1/2 hour. The E&G is a bolt on, insert....it goes right over the existing black, plastic CRAPPY grille.
I have to say, that the E&G grille is very solid and durable.
I guess you will just have to decide on the style you like and what your wallet can afford. ;)

dmarmada04le 08-23-2005, 02:57 PM Where are you guys/gals buying your E&G grilles, and what did you pay if you dont mind me asking. I think I'm going to buy the E&G, I really like the look of it.
Malik112099 08-23-2005, 09:20 PM klondike's bolted on also..very secure..kinda a pain, but secure
llajumpvid 08-23-2005, 09:35 PM don't worry about rattles. Zip ties or bolts will make it secure enough it won't rattle. The street scene griles use friction clips. They are much more of a pain in the azz to put on, and I don't think I could take them off without ruining the clips. You have to take and split the upper grill in half to put on the clips which was the worse part.
I need the AC TSB and am worried about how they'll do it with the lower insert???
greengoddess 08-23-2005, 11:17 PM Weezr - Where did you get yours? And if you don't mind, how much did that put you back? I love it!
weezr17 08-24-2005, 08:04 AM THANKS GREENGODESS!
BTW, LOVE GROVER! One of my sons favorite characters! :)
I was going to buy from EBAY, BUT then this guy appeared on this site...he goes by BENVOLLMER. He doesn't post much but I see that he checks in once in a while. He sold me his for $165, for the 4 pieces (which is pretty good) Maybe he has more....not sure.
I see them on EBAY for about $230 You should also check and see if anyone is selling their grille on this site and the CLUBTITAN site.
GOOD LUCK!

I have the street scene grille and had the AC TSB done. I had no problems. If they removed the lower insert, I could not tell.

ARMADAbfly 08-24-2005, 07:41 PM I purchased it at autoanything.com. reasonably priced. check it out

Crappy is right. That Nissan Logo is chromed plastic. Did you know that? It is on with double sided tape. Well, was on. I did not put it on the billet grille. I just let it go. It lost it's sticky oomph!
weezr17 08-25-2005, 11:07 AM I KNOW..... Isn't that unbelievable. The "CHROME" OEM Grille is even plastic. OH...AND the door handles! ALL CRAP! I wonder when they will start to peel?!
greengoddess 08-26-2005, 09:53 AM Thanks Weezr!!! :)
