HOUSE OF PAIN

I have a 2011 Armada and at some point I would like to remove all of the chrome pieces and either paint them or go the truck bed-liner route. I can remove the roof rack and I know how to remove the grille and the chrome caps from the mirrors but the only pieces I am not sure how to remove would be the chrome strips on the side door molding and the door handles. I am not even sure if the chrome strips are removable and I may have to just order new side door moldings without the chrome. Another option is to remove the side door molding completely but I am not sure how it is attached or if there are any holes in the door for it to attach to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are holes in the door...I changed my black ones for the chrome a few months ago. I would love to trade roof racks, but I'm in WI so shipping would be an issue. I have a 2009... Roof rack is in mint condition!

Thanks for the info SOLAR, how much of a pain was it to swap out the molding? How is it attached?

The molding is attached with double faced tape and snap pins that snap in holes in the door. I had the dealer install them because they had to be painted. I wish I would have saved my old ones for you…they were black.

Solar,

I'm pondering the idea of swapping out my side molding for chrome from a 2010 platinum. About how much did it cost to purchase the moldings and have them painted and installed?

BAMM,

It was around $700 total from the dealer. I think it looks good, but it is a little too much to pay.
