I belong to another motorcycle forum (Bigdog Biker) and we have a Thread on Dealerships broken down into regions where forum members can comment on service received from that Dealership (good, bad, or ugly). The point is to help other forum members locate the good dealers and obviously avoid the bad ones. Also some of the dealers read the forum and are very happy to assist in problems to make a negative situation right.

I live and work near 5 Nissan Dealerships, and would like to know which one has the best service, parts, and sales departments. So far their reputations vary from good to bad.

Just wondering if that information would be a benefit or service to our forum members here at Club Armada?

Regards,

I think that would make for a very helpful section of the site.

Eric,
Thanks for the links, but what I was thinking about is some kind of database or a section broken down by defferent regions. It gets very tedious to have to scan through all the threads to locate one near you if there are any.

I'll be happy to try and pull the info together and post something soon.

Thanks Don,

This wasn't meant to be a bridge to far, or quest for the Holy Grail, but for the new folks (me) it would helpul to know who to deal with specifically when traveling through other states.

I try to stay away from dealers, seems the "certifed" mechanic for a dealer is questionable, IMO. I think a lot of the local good mechanics find their way to an independent shop, and not only are they better, they don't have the over head (read-higher prices) of dealers. Maybe we should add them to the list as well. I know of a great suspension shop and an even better Nissan/Infiniti mechanic here in the Baltimore/Washington area if anyone is in need.

Good point, I have had several Harley's over the years and prefer the independent mechanics to the factory dealerships.

HERE"S THE UGLY........
The dealer that I used to go to didn't even know that I had " auto leveling " in my truck until I showed it to them. ( props to members of this site for the confirmation ) The service writer siad he was dumbfounded by the fact that he nor any other techs ( or lack there of ) knew that an 08 LE with towing package didn't have this. He actually said that no models have it.

wtf... who trains these people ?

Sorry fot the rant. You asked for it. Colonial Nissan. Feasterville, PA ..

Most of the Harley shops won't even support the older bikes. I have an 86 and an 87 and if I ask for parts the parts guy looks at me like I'm from outer space, yet a lot of parts do cross reference to the later models, they just don't want to have anything to do with it. The nice thing about Harley shops especially when you're on the rode (even in the Mada), they are destination stops, always a clean bathroom!
