I just bought my Armada a couple of weeks ago and began to tinker a bit after browsing the forums and seeing some of the different Armadas. I debadged and added tint.

I have a billet grille that should be here any day now and I have an Armaden LED package paid for and on the way any day now. I want to order some aftermarket headlights but just haven't been convinced by the Halo lights or JMD lights....I will grab QX56 LEDs for the tails and smoke them lightly and eventually figure out something for the backup lights, no biggie.

I guess it'll go either way -healights or tails- as far as the next mod

I haven't driven the Audi or Vette since I bought it. It's my new toy and I ain't putting her down anytime soon
:crikey:

PICS:

I just used a blow dryer to heat up the emblems and floss to get behind the emblems to loosen the letters

Then all you have left is the glue

I took the heat gun again, heated up the glue and rolled the warm glue right off the paint with my fingers

After I used a buffing cloth and Goo Gone and lightly rubbed off any small residue left......

BAM!

Im going to remove the Nissan Emblem as well but currently looking into what to use to fill the two small mounting holes that will be left....

Any suggestions?

Countersunk rivets in the right size and painted black?
Im leaning towards black all weather RTV

Anyone else done it themselves?

How is your finger?

How is your finger?

Finally cooled down.
Blister on my left thumb and a small blister on my right thumb...

That could be avoided if you use the other fingers, your palms and other smooth body parts at your own risk

Oh and take your time....I rushed a bit

If you use a microfiber rag and Goo-B-Gone you can save your fingers

I did do that on the SE letters....took a lot longer , then I switched over to heating and rubbing the glue right off, a lot quicker and frankly a small blister on my finger doesn't bother me as much as it might others

I like the debadged look and did the same thing (including blistered thumbs). My questions is, how do you remove the nissan burger?

It seems like is stuck on the same way but I could not get the floss to go through. Anyone have luck with that? I want it off or maybe blacked out.

BTW, here is my smoked LEDs and Halo headlights (both from ebay).

I love them but I did add some extra silcone to ensure they do not leak or get condensation.

I'm pretty sure when have to unscrew it from behind, I haven't looked into it yet but that's what makes sense, once I do I'll make a small write up on the process but should be pretty straight forward

CarbonDuc - The pic of ur tails/headlights doesnt show up, maybe it's just my work computer/network that won't show the pictures

I dont know about the later years, but I pulled my Nissan Emblem off the rear hatch to black it out. It does leave two small mounting holes, but all I did was take an exacto knife to cut the glue (I would use floss now) & add a little pulling force... it pulls right out. The glue is whats holding it on, once you free the glue, the mounting prongs just slide right out. Does this answer the question?

To avoid the blisters...I asked a guy I work with who does some auto body on the side how to remove the glue best...he gave me what amounts to a eraser that fits in your drill, it has a shaft on it to slide in the chuck...turn it on, buff the glue right out. He said they were only about $5 or so from a auto parts store or body shop supply. It worked great, all I had left was the little rubber rolls & eraser waste, no damage at all to the paint.

Thanks for sharing,

That looks real clean, I too have a black 2011 Armada and wanted to do the same but haven't had the time. How long did it take to de-badge?

I was also looking to find a black grill, ram air hood and black mirror caps to continue the de-chrome/murdered look.

I did find a company on line that has the black Nissan burger , but would like to have it all clean and smooth.

Well it took me less than an hour...I want to go murdered out but I don't want to deal with cops pulling me over...I'll have to find some sort of median

Im taking off the rear NISSAN badge this week, probably tomorrow as today Im going to finish the billet grille install....did the top yesterday and I'll do the bottom today....pretty happy!
