I am getting conflicting reports about the advance vs chip installation. I currently have the advance and love it, but I'm hearing that I need to install the chip or have my ecu mapped. I don't want overkill but would love some better gas mileage while keeping my performance edge.

Suggestions??

There is a tuner called "SuperChips" that you can use, but installing any "Chip" has proven to be BS or the equivalent of Snake Oil.

Spyda, not sure what you're saying. I'm reading 'BS' to be 'Bull****'. And Snake Oil means it really does nothing, but sounds good. Is that your opinion on the various tuners, or just the Superchips? It certainly wasn't BS or Snake Oil for me!

Bulldog and Superchips are actually tuners that you can map to whatever your preference,there have been some kind of chip being sold on Ebay that does nothing..and that is what he's call "BS'!!!

The handheld tuners are by Bullydog, Hypertech and Superchips. The best imo is the UpRev Osiris Software and cable which runs from a laptop. All of 4 of these are very good products.

Skip any sort of Chip sold on Ebay for $25 or $50 or so. That is junk, has nothing to offer anyone for any vehicle. It is just a 10 Cent Resistor in reality.

OK, so you guys are saying that a performance 'chip' is at the least, far inferior to the tuners such as the Bullydog or Superchips or UpRev. And the chips sold on Ebay particularly are not worth buying. Hopefully that answers the OP's question.

Don't know the first thing about any of the chips. But I know that tuner works!

You got it, when I say BS! This is what I mean.

Tuners are not chips (even though some of them mention "chips' in their name) and chips are BS.

Tuners = Good
Chips = Bad
