marrero412002 04-10-2011, 11:51 PM MY 05 MADA Has a clicking nosie when i am under 15 mph and went to pep boys and got a brake check and they said that brake system was fine and that he heres it but cant pitpoint it and that was helpless so went to the fourms with people who probably had previous problem. please help me thanks.
pi3yeargrad 04-11-2011, 12:01 AM How does the click sound? Is it continuous or just when u go? Mine started making a click when put into reverse and given gas or put into drive and given gas... only initial go... After that no click. I got an apt. to take it in to the dealer tomorrow...
marrero412002 04-11-2011, 12:08 AM No only WHEN your slowing down under 20 mph it starts to click and if you give it gas or over 20 mph the click goes away
The_Blue_Beast_Owner 04-21-2011, 09:53 AM I have the same problem and I can't figure it out...
BlakSpyda 04-23-2011, 11:22 PM Welcome marrero412002!
Les7311 04-24-2011, 11:03 PM mine clicks (once) at the rear brakes and only after backing up then going forward.
now i hear a constant clickin in the dash, to the left of the steering...almost like a clock.
Kreutz73 04-25-2011, 08:44 AM Brake and Bearing noises typically don't go away with speed, they may become a buzz instead of a tick but they will still make noise. u-joints can be sloppy and will click when driving slow but they will seat themselves when the shafts are spinning faster and the noise will go away. Check your front and rear drive shafts for play at the u-joints. U-joints are cheap to replace yourself.
boostedfe3 05-03-2011, 06:26 PM Same problem here guys. I will be doing my brakes this weekend and I plan to put it on a lift to see if I can locate this annoying clicking sound.
12platinum 11-20-2011, 04:35 PM HATE to bring back old thread...BUT have you figured this out? i hate dealerships and dont want to go to one with my 2 week old 2012 armada for this but i have it too....
louderld23 11-29-2011, 09:04 PM I am having the same issue with my 2007. I have noticed that the second I turn the heat ON, the clicking noise stops and the instant I turn the heat OFF, the clicking noise returns.
marrero412002 11-30-2011, 04:13 PM Well this the answer for the clicking noise in the driver side for my armada. When I went under the car I saw that my toward u joint was I need of repair so my mechanic removed the driveshaft the holds the u joint and the noise went away completely my trucks sound like new that noise is annoying. I bought brutal force ujoint . And they work great let me know if you guys need any info.
12platinum 12-01-2011, 01:31 PM what was the diagnosis exactly? without a driveshaft youd of course not hear the noise as that corner is not spinning...could the noise still be heard while the truck is off the ground? like spinning the wheel while on a lift? always kind figured it was the ujoint as its clearly not a suspension issue. was there something visibly wrong with the stock part?
12platinum 12-01-2011, 03:53 PM Well i just got to my dealer a little while ago for my tbl, abd the rear clicking we have here. They surprised me when they came out to me with a service bulletin for it...theres an adjustment on the bolts near the axles or something. Will be reporting back when i get the truck back within the hour to see if it has been resolved.

EDIT: dealer fixed the issue. no more clicking at the moment. hopefully it stays that way and the truck can stay out of th eshop but its a good day as far as im concerned.

Goes away after a few seconds...did you ever figure yours out?

Sounds to me like you might have a bad actuator in the HVAC system. Is the noise coming from the dashboard area, or around the firewall?
04PATHFINDERARMADADUDE 12-23-2011, 03:21 AM Sounds to me like you might have a bad actuator in the HVAC system. Is the noise coming from the dashboard area, or around the firewall? The area it sounds like it is coming from is the dash near the steering column. Does not happen all the time. I just bought this rig last week drove it about 4 times and now am away for a month before I get back and can wrench on it.

Was your click coming from the rear of the vehicle?
I seem to hear it when moving from a standstill or from a very slow roll to hard acceleration. Seems like it something with the differential and the increase/change in power or direction. I thought it might be normal, but since you said there's a TSB on it, I'll give it a go with my dealer and see what they say. Thanks for your info!
12platinum 12-29-2011, 05:15 PM i will have to dig out the TSB number but i went in with no such papers and they pulled it up for me. told them the symptoms. just have them know about the axle bolts area as a point to look at.
came from the rear, yes. but came from the front as well at different unrelated times. kinda weird. have to think that noise causing slippage of some kind. doubt its good for the car to have that kind of slack in the axle area.
