I was considering adding an amp or two and replacing the speakers. I've got the Navigation/and Bose factory system. Has anyone done this? Do you know if the factory setup has RCA outs for an amplifier? I'll probably have a shop do it for me, but I want to know ahead of time if it is going to be extremely expensive, or difficult. It is a factory system. BOSE is not compatable with aftermarket stereo equipment. The Deck is a panasonic. The speakers are $4 POS. The only way to add an amp is to get a line level feed off the stereo and then amp it.May add a lot of noise. I want to get rid of mine but its tied into the NAV and I'm reluctant to as I don't want to mess up the NAV. I'm going to have to research it in a little while when I'm ready. I used to install for a living and will do the work myself. But for me, its after some forced induction and a PRG lift. :D

I have the same set-up as all of you. I added a sub with absolutely no problems. The Signal to Noise ratio of the stock head unit seems fairly well. The unit I got is made specifically to interface with the OEM Bose system, made by PAC Audio. Their web-site is www.pac-audio.com. The part numebr you need is the AOEM-NIS2. This kit comes with everything you need to tap into the audio signal between the head unit and the external Bose amp. This output converter will give you 4-channel full range RCA pre-outs. Though I am only using this for a sub out, I had this same unit previously installed in my 2003 Nissan Murano w/Bose. With that set-up I had replaced all the speakers and added subs and the sound quality was great.

Anyhow, I'll attach a diagram of what the set-up looks like. If you have Navi...use the rear RCA's so when the Navigation starts talking it wont fade out the subs like it does for the front speakers.

BTW, I forgot about the best feature of this kit. It comes with a "T" harness and you dont have to cut a single wire.

There are no speakers in this world that have only one wire. There are always a positive and a negative.
Anyhow, you wouldnt want to amplify the stock speakers with another amp. Chances are, you would blow them.
