: Ok what kinda football fans do we have?
I myself am a Huge Packer fan. I hope they really get things going this year. They have lost a few already that I never wouda thought they would lose. Favre is probably the toughest quarterback of all time if you ask me.
As far as College ball goes I am a Clemson Tiger fan. I do like to see Carolina win but not when they are playing Clemson. I really woulda thought Carolina would do better then they have with coach Lou Holtz, but they just don't seem to get that much better.
Well enough about who I like who do you like?

Lions, Wolverines, Tigers, Pistons, Wings. I guess I'm pretty much a michigan sports fan.
EightmanVT 10-06-2004, 01:18 PM Virginia Tech Hokies!!! All the way!! -- although...it's going to be a tough year for us -- at least we put West Virginia in their place!! After that -- nothng matters. I root for Green Bay ..because I'm a Brett Favre fan...just like I used to root for Denver...because I was a huge Elway fan... Gotta root for my boy Mike Vick...down in Atlanta... Being from Virginia -- I don't feel any strong loyalties to any proteams....since we don't have one.
ARMADAinSMOKE 11-04-2004, 07:44 PM I never really watched football until I moved to SD. My wife is a big football fan. So there you have it, I have been changed by my wife to watch football and have become a Charger fan. I know I know. But you have to admit, it's cool to root for the underdog sometimes. :D
Originally, I am from Los Angeles, so I am a Lakers fan from birth and a UCLA fan also.
llajumpvid 11-04-2004, 09:02 PM Born and raised a Husker fan...I'm an alum for the glory decade (90's)...I don't advertise it too much these days though  My pro team is the Texans.

Let's first say "GO NINERS" yeah we are in that rebuilding thing but we will be back in the hunt.
As far as college goes I root for all the SWAC schools in all sports but mostly JACKSON STATE U. (alumni)
I enjoy pro basketball to much to pick 1 team but I really enjoy watching KOBE getting his ash handed to him every night :D
I will predict the lakers won't make the playoffs and Shaq will make it to the finals in the East.
Ben-Gals: might get to .500
Reds: wait until next decade
UC Bearcats: well at least we are close the start of college B-Ball
OSU football: bad week for OSU in general (Clarett and O'Brien)
SeanFromTX 11-17-2004, 02:30 PM I'm not much of a fan, but even if I did like football, I have twenty something favorite teams - "Anybody who plays the Cowboys".
Sorry, but football is a bit boring. You have 5-6 seconds of action followed up by changing out players, huddling up, lining up and waiting for the snap. Thats's why "Hockey" is the better sport.

Seems like liven in the Burgh thats PITTSBURGh to all the rest of you, the STEELERS are the only team in town, well we do have the PIRAtES, and of coures the Penguins... So We are planning to take the rest of the NFL down a notch or two....See at the Super Bowl :
madamadness 11-24-2004, 02:39 PM KC All the way baby!! Was born a 49er Fan, and Christian Okoye and Derrick Thomas changed all of that. Priest, Dante, and Gonzo, you can't go wrong!! We looked good last year, but have to rebuild, and get there again next year.
Lakers - Kobe's the MAN!!!
poison_blood 01-25-2005, 08:00 PM I’m a Green bay fan all the way and next year it’s going to be the best for us the fans
I hope your right. I cant stand seeing soo many interceptions being thrown. I think its more the receivers arent staying with their routes but it still sucks. Makes Favre look like he is the one in the wrong. I would say 2 out of 3 though its the receiver failing to run his route the way they were designed. Oh well I sure hope Favre don't do anything crazy and retire on us.

FL_Crushin 06-18-2005, 05:37 AM Lived on the Jersey side of the Delaware River most of my life. Grew up a Philadelphia Sports fan. Can only pull for the Eagles. For all of the Green Bay and Dallas fans, you can all come over to my house in February next year and watch the Eagles play on the big Screen. :goteam:

Rossi 06-18-2005, 10:27 AM RAIDERRRSSSS!!!! RAIDERRRSSSSSS!!!!
Not too sure about our defense this year but we should have a high flying offense. With Moss, Porter, and our good group of young guys and the addition of Lamont Jordan at running back....gonna score some points this year.
cali_luv211 06-18-2005, 11:45 AM Eagles all the way there's no one in the NFC that can stop them with or without TO! :usuck:
AZARMADA 06-18-2005, 03:46 PM Skins fan since I was 5. I have lived her in AZ before the Cards came to town, so I root for them. Unless they play the Skins. It is better not that the Card have be removed from teh NFC East.

I am the HUgest Eagles fan, I have almost the entire 2003,2004 Signed footballs, I bleed Eagles Green! I believe they will dominate AGAIN this year, WITH or WITHOUT T icked O ff!! who, if he keeps up his stuff will be T ake O ff!
Rossi 06-22-2005, 12:59 PM As long as you have been a fan for more then the past few years......
TO....Drew Rosenhaus.....what a combination. This agent ruins players. If you sign a contract you should be obligated to happily fulfil it. The Eagles did him a favor by getting him from the Ravens...and this is how he repays them. I hope they keep there strong stance and TO folds.
ftnssn 06-22-2005, 03:59 PM As long as you have been a fan for more then the past few years......

I couldn't disagree with you anymore. If the NFL had guaranteed contracts than I would agree, but they don't. The team can cut him loose anytime they want if he gets injured, so why can't he look out for himself. And as a 49ers fan I don't have much love for TO but I'm with him on this one.
Rossi 06-22-2005, 05:02 PM Nope....have you read a NFL contract. If you are injured do you really think the Players Union would allow for you to simply be cut. Now if you injure yourself at home or anything other then your football requirements then you are in violation of the contract and can be cut immediately AND you can be required to pay some of the guarenteed money back to the team.
All contracts have guarentees. If you sign me tomorrow and take me off the market.....I sign with you....you are still bound by certain provisions within the contract as it is written. Now if you are a nobody....you can agree to a damn what's it called....well anyways it states that you are there to try and make the team and nothing is guarenteed to you like you are on probabtion. With this...yup...you can be cut immediately. No money other then your time there prorated.
But TO...hell...I have not read his contract....but it's probably incentive laden and full of guarenteed money.
No contract states that if you are injured during the game or practice your contract can be null and void...that's just not reality. You can be cut...sure....but the team...like I said...will still be bound to pay you as stated in your contract with the league/team.
If you are permanently disabled during play or other football functions....do you really think that the player just get's screwed??? A players contract is VERY huge and confusing. But the player is protected under certain cuircumstances.
What you don't realize...when a high caliber player signs a contract...there contract will state that they need to play at that caliber and meet certain goals, minus being injured, or the team reserves the right to cut the player.
It's a Union Contract.....you really think the player isn't going to be protected??? And for the millions they are paid...yeah...perform or you don't deserve the money. Hell...pay me minimum wage to sit the bench.....at last glance...that's over 300K....to do nothing...lift weights...participate in team drills.... Sounds like a dream made in heaven to me.
ftnssn 06-22-2005, 06:24 PM There are so many holes in your argument I don't even know where to start. If your injured during the season you get paid for the rest of that season. After that you can get cut and not get a dime. If you get hurt in the offseason you are assed out. The Players Union is completely in the pocket of the NFL so don't use that in your argument.
Rossi 06-22-2005, 08:29 PM Well the same can be said about your argument. You seem to think the players in the NFL are mistreated....I'm not sure I follow how you can think this.....
In any organization someone can find flaws. And I can probalby point out one in all your arguments also. If a player is permanently injured during the course of his work...he's covered....he's not assed out and on Social Security...beleive me. Maybe he's making 10-50k a month instead of millions....
I take it you are also against the Salary Cap and think we should have baseball size salaries in the NFL too....teams buying championships...which isn't even working in baseball.
Do you know...there is a list of teams that will not even deal with a college player when they contract with Drew.....when these players should be happy that they are among the less then 1% of players that will ever get a chance to make it in the NFL.
Eli Manning....that spoiled little brat needed his rear kicked last year at the draft...it showed total disrespect for the draft process. Players share this feeling towards Eli Manning....
But anyways...like politics...were not going to agree so why continue.
ftnssn 06-22-2005, 11:13 PM We're going to keep going because the real season hasn't started yet and this is as close to football as I've got going right now. Even if I agreed with you I'd probably argue about it.
92TripleBlack 06-22-2005, 11:35 PM Football, just hurry up and start already. I miss my Ice Hockey and detest basketball and everything associated with it. I'm stuck with my Yankees loosing and forcing myself to try to be a redneck and watch NASCAR. I'm really trying but I still don't find it as exciting as a hip check into the boards. Where's my Football! :goteam: :machinegu

Did you say your a Niner fan??? Assuming you live in the area come on over to our Sacramento meet and we can argue football all day. That's really the only sport I follow...long boring year when it's off season! You do any fantasy leagues?
ftnssn 06-23-2005, 01:13 AM I live in champaign IL these days but I hope to make my way back west after i get my BA.. And yes I do fantasy leagues.
Rossi 06-23-2005, 01:24 AM The past couple years I have taken the easy route and have just played fantasy football on ESPN..Gridiron Challenge...but this year I think I'm going to get back into the real game with a bunch of friends and a draft. It's just so time consuming if you want to win!
FL_Crushin 06-23-2005, 01:54 AM I am the HUgest Eagles fan, I have almost the entire 2003,2004 Signed footballs, I bleed Eagles Green! I believe they will dominate AGAIN this year, WITH or WITHOUT T icked O ff!! who, if he keeps up his stuff will be T ake O ff!
The EAGLES will be tough no matter what. T/O or not T/O. It really doesn't matter. I hope the Eagles don't budge. T/O wants to win a super bowl, but his ego "may" be bigger than that desire to win. We'll see in the next couple months. I was just looking for my Eagle's Head trailer hitch cover. Saw one for about $28. Think I'm going to get it.
ftnssn 06-23-2005, 10:08 AM actually i'd say TO's desire to win is greater than McNabbs. TO actually showed up in Jacksonville and didn't leave his lunch on the field.

I can not agree with you there.... But more on that later..
Rossi: I have been an Eagles Fan since I was 13, which was MANY MANY Years ago, I am no Band wagon Fan, I took abuse for years!
On T.O's Contract he was Guarranteed 19 Million, I am sorry, but no job in the world Guarrantees their salary so why should football be any different... Your Job doesn't guarantee you a salary if you are hurt does it? Other than state laws on disablility or Workmens Comp, which Football follows as well....
T.O. Worked his butt off to get back in the time for the Superbowl, and i repsect that... But Taking cheap shots at McNabb (who never has bad word about ANYONE) and demanding they rework his contract because he was too stupid to put some of that 19 million away for retirement is just Big Ego and a Losing strategy...
Drew Rosenhaus is a Leech who just wants to step on as many people as he can why self promoting himself (Actually Him and TO deserve each other)
Eagles org will NOT back down on this, Lurie and Banner do make a great Team as they don;t overspend for people and they don't give players on the verge of going downlhill big contracts, you might think is Unfair, but it is just Business, they have to keep a good rotation of decent players coming through that locker room...
man, why did i have to read this at 7 am.... I am tring to type this and drink my Morning coffee..... oh well back to getting ready for work. (which i am guarranteed nothing)
Rossi 06-27-2005, 10:33 AM Ditto!!!! Man...guarentee me 19 million and I'll retire after this year!
ftnssn 06-27-2005, 11:36 AM ...no job in the world Guarrantees their salary so why should football be any different...
MLB and NBA both have them
shaft2k 06-27-2005, 01:05 PM MLB and NBA have guaranteed contracts. Remember Zo (Miami Heat) getting paid his salary while he was out sick???? If he were a football player he would have been released. Granted, TO does some crazy things and taking potshots at McNabb was wrong but as has been said in this post, this contract thing is just business. If he didnt produce, the Eagles would let him go contract or not. The NFL shouldnt talk about honoring contracts when they (owners) routinely dont if it doesnt suit them. He is one of the best receivers in football so he should be one of the best paid (I believe he had the best or 2nd best stats last year and is like the 6th or 7th highest paid receiver). If you are the best at what you do you want to be paid as such, right????? He should have wrote one of those clauses in his contract like Ewing (Knicks) did where he had to be one of the top 5 in salary in the league, now thats a contract!!!!
jerseyparts 06-27-2005, 09:16 PM should have, could have , would have but he didn't.... He signed a contract that made him one of the Highest paid recievers in the league, then with a couple more contract signings and extensions, he became the 5th highest paid receiver... 5 out hundreds....... come on. DO YOU DO A COMPETENT JOB at whatever it is that you do? are you one of the TOP 5 paid people at your position?? And to compare MLB and NBA to Football is crazy, THEY will be where the NHL is today soon, the market can not bear the salaries that are being paid out, and if they do, WE will be the ones paying! Take his guaranteed 19 million, and shut his hole... Play the game.. renegotiate after 3 years like every other NFL Player does.... don't start junk with other people because YOU don't think its not fair that 4 guys make more than you... I like TO as a Player, but as a Person, he leaves alot to be desired.
ftnssn 06-28-2005, 12:03 AM I like TO as a Player, but as a Person, he leaves alot to be desired.

jerseyparts 06-28-2005, 01:17 AM you've actually met TO?
Yes I have, My cousin is his waitress at Barnacle Bills, and I have been to his Book signings as well as every eagles home game.. we have a few Eagles players that get their cars at our complex.. TO is ignorant, and acts like he has no time for people UNLESS the camera are on, then his little I am greatest Player who always has time for his fans..... I hate a phony!
ftnssn 06-28-2005, 12:22 PM Thats cool that you have actually met him. It makes me nuts when people say things like that and they don't even know the person. I've met TO also, I used to live on Oahu and I met him during the Pro Bowl. He seemed really nice than but who knows.
Rossi 06-28-2005, 02:08 PM I went to the pro bowl a few years back....4 or 5. Some of the players are really cool..and hang out with you at the block party. But some of them have major attitudes and treat everyone around them like crap!
