I know I've cut back on my driving of the Mada because of rising gas prices, I've been using my Honda Accord to get back and forth to work. Just wondering, what is everyone paying for gas and what city/state. Haven't checked today, but I filled up 2 days ago at $1.52/gallon. I'm really considering trading in the Armada due to gas prices.

I've got to assume that you meant $2.52 I was driving to work and people were lining up like the 70's to get gas at $2.75 fearing the worst that prices are going to shoot through the roof, which they probably will. Also saw $2.59, and $2.85 on the same drive to work. If it hits $4.00 guess what, people are still going to buy it. What are you going to do, other than get rid of your truck, not me. My solution is better money management. All I have to do is convince the wife not to eat out 2 times a month and WALLAH! there's my gas money. I bet people don't even know where they spend their money on a monthly basis. They probably waste more money at the movies and paying late fees on everything, that if they managed it better they could find the money to pay for gas, which they will anyway. I remember when gas was a buck! Some of the old timers may remember when it was a quarter. I've only heard the stories. I won't let gas prices dictate what type of vehicle I drive. It would be tough to get my twins and Nana in the back of an accord.

The gas at the local exxons, mobiles etc is anywhere from 3.05 to 3.15 i think i saw.

I drive my Mada local for the most part. It's Killin me, but I won't give her up. I'll find a way to keep the Mada heavy and hawking. Toomuch of a pleasure to drive.

I live in NW Arkansas (ArKaNsAs) and the gas on Monday was $2.49 and in the last two days after katrina it has gone up to $2.98. The spike is a pain but I have to still get around so I will pay whatever it takes within reason but still.

Over here in El Paso,Texas we're @ 2.99 a gallon. It's gone up .50 in the last two days. I don't know how much more it's going to go up but it's going to get tough.

In Vegas, the lowest prices I've seen are:

$2.69 - Regular
$2.79 - Mid-grade
$2.89 - Super

I guess we're lucky compared to some of you.

Paid 2.85 yesterday in So. Cali. These gas prices really suck :machinegu . good news is that I picked up a 94 civic couple weeks back for $600, I filled it up, lasted 2 weeks (349 miles). It is only a 15 gal. tank, but hell that still runs about $45 to fill up. I see my childrens college money literally being burnt up.

In Chicago today, I saw $3.49 for regular.

I'm glad I live in a suburb outside Chicago where it's at $2.83 for regular, but I expect the prices to change soon. :(

I just drove around Florida. $2.89 for regular in Venice. $2.69 in Lakeland, $2.94 in Orlando. Most stations were out in Orlando also. My buddy in Chicago says the station behind him is selling super for $3.89 (not a typo) and Atlanta has some stations at $5+/- because some pipeline was damaged.

Yesterday it was $2.77 a gallon, I wanted to fill the boat up before it jumped again tomorrow!!! :temphot:Ouch! That Sucks! I filled up my bike this morning and it was at $3.10 for premium. I can not go down to mid-grade or regular because my bike requires 91+ octane.

My wife has usually been filling up the Armada when the fuel guage gets around half a tank with regular and it's been costing her about $50-60. She did mention that she will be driving my Toyota pickup to work more often, to my surprise. It is only a 4 banger. She hates driving that thing ever since I put a 3.5" lift on it.

I saw a corner station had up 3.10 on the way home so I stopped and topped off at one station that was still at $2.89. To put a + on this situation I'm thinking the gas price might give me just enough argument to convince the wife that I need a Harley. I'm guessing though I'll get a :fullofit:

No offense...but I'd love to "fill up" for $45!!! That's a little more than 1/2 tank of gas - it's $2.99 around here tonight for regular unleaded (it was $2.79 this morning).

2.79 for 87 tonight. $60 to fill up. Costco had to big a line, best time to go is early Sunday morning then you drive right up. They are anywhere from .10 to .30 cheaper. Most of our gas comes from refineries in Anacortes, but it is funny that not all of our crude oil comes from Alaska, some from S. America, maybe even Cali.

Gas in Chicago area suburb on 9/1 @ $3.29 per gallon :crikey: I just paid over $70 to fill mine. :(

But as someone else mentioned, it can just be a matter of money management. How badly do you want to drive your Mada? ;) I LOVE my Mada and knew that buying a V8 would hurt at the gas pump anyway.

Be happy if you can get gas. Here in Pensacola, you have to wait in line, that is if you can find a station with gas.

Gas prices are getting us all, but I think that the fumes got to my husband this morning. We spend about $65 a week on gas to fill up the Armada. He got so frustrated at fill up today, that he decided he wanted to trade the Armada in for a car with better fuel economy. I did not think he was serious, but the next thing I know, we are at a Chevy dealer looking at some small little automobile. The Chevy HHR. I was shocked. He even went as far as going on a test drive. I told him I did not want to go on the test drive. I was giving him "the eye" wondering what the heck was happening here. Was he serious. Was he ACTUALLY considering going from a full size SUV to a small 4 cyl. car?? When he got back from the test drive, I just looked at him. I heard him say that he needed to talk it over with me, and that we would be back. We got back into the car, and I asked him if he was serious. 2 kids.... all their sports gear, his huge family of 13 siblings... and he wanted to get a small HHR? I got the lecture about how I am spoiled by the Armada, and that I should be thinking about fuel economy and saving money. I told him I agree on that aspect, but why such a drastic change? I finally convinced him that he would regret going to an HHR. Not just because I would be on his case for years, :D but also because he would miss the space the Armada offeres us. He then went to work, and I breathed a sigh of relief. My Armada and I are still together. I know that it is expensive when it comes to gas, but the Armada and I have been through a lot, and I am just not ready to part with her. Hopefully, the gas prices will start to go down. Prayers and good wishes to everyone that has been affected, directly or indirectly, from Hurricane Katrina. :p

people is getting freaked about this gas issue... dont know why. instead of going on a trip or going out with your kids or movies or getting pizza sundays, just save that money for your gas, not a big deal. i dont see why your husband would trade the mada, if he knew that getting it would hurt his wallet on gas. cutting a few things that you usually do in a week would get you the money gas you need :)
