It might read CD-R/RW just fine if burned as regular CD format, but my 04 LE Bose does not read MP3s. Take a look at the format you are burning to the media.

You may be burning mp3 and wav but I gaurantee your software is converting it to audio CD format. Our HU's do not play mp3.

How many songs are you putting on a CD? I bet it is less than 15, if you are burning mp3's on the disk then you should be able to put 100-150 songs on one disk.

I haven't tried to play MP3's as that was one of my questions when puchasing the LE, I was told they do not play them. Also, for the 2006 it clearly states that one of the upgrades is the system will now play MP3's. Just going off what I have been told and read. But again I have not personally tried to play them.

hullio, there is a big difference between burning a disc in mp3 format and burning it in audio format on a blank cd-r/cd-rw. the major difference is that you can fit 8 to 9 FULL ALBUMS in mp3 format and only about 15-20 SONGS in audio format. so i think that was his question. answer is no for the 04-05 models. 06 models, i've heard yes.

Correct. MP3 is a different and inferior quality recording. They compact the information which in turn makes the music less dynamic. On a good system, you can easily hear the difference. With our BOSE, it isn't as noticable. I play an IPod on mine, which is MP3 and it doesn't sound to bad, but manufacturer burned disks are definitely better. :o
