do you guys have lots of scratches and stuff on your rear interior panels? my dogs have scratched it up pretty bad before. did any of you use plasti dip or vinyled the interior rear panels?

should i give it a try as my panels look terrible with all the deep scratches?

by the way, i now put my xl metal cage inside the qx when i take the dogs out with me, so they shouldn't be scratching the rear interior panels anymore...

I bought mine used, and I have scratches all over those panels. You're talking about the panels near the third row/cargo area right? You can buy new ones for about $200 a side, but I was thinking it may be better to have it lined with a durable carpet of some sort. Not sure how it would work out though.

Whenever I take my dog out (sometimes on 3 hour trips) I make sure he is in a vest harness which I attach through a leash to the seat belt. I put his bed down and he just chills there. Just wanted to note that as a lot of people take their dogs out and they get injured or killed in an accident and often thrown from the vehicle because they are not properly secured.

Anyway, I can see how that stuff would scratch. I have not seen it for the Armada / QX yet but I recall Ford did make a rear cargo cover for the Explorer that wrapped up the sides so the entire cargo area was protected. That would be great for hauling plants and other dirty stuff as well as it was made out of a vinyl material that could be hosed off or wiped down.

I'll see if I can find anything similar for the Armada / QX but I haven't seen one yet.

Edit: Check it out!

hey that would be awesome, i love the cover thing, as i have scratches from the bottom all the way up to the part by the bottom of the side windows.

but 200 per panel, thats too pricey...

ok i was on cargoliner.com website and its 400! too pricey for me.

i am annoyed of these deep scratches so i searched around on the net and noticed some people spraying the rustoleum bed liner on plastic parts of their interior panels.

has anyone had experience with it? not sure how great it will stick on plastic, but it seems like a great alternative, as it will also prevent the panels from getting scratched in the future, due to its protective coating...

Baaaad idea. I've been through about 14 cans of the stuff so I have experience CLICKY (http://www.clubarmada.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20007). I love the stuff and it sticks great to plastic but should only be used on outside parts. The texture would pick up every dog hair and fiber and would be an absolute nightmare to clean.

I have to use a nylon brush on it because if I get near it with a microfiber cloth or wash mitt it will eat it alive and then be stuck in it until I can hose it with some pressure.

Perhaps if you used it then sprayed a clear coat on top of it some of the texture would be coverd - not sure.

Yea those cargo covers are nuts at $400 - what are they made out of fur? The Nissan one was $100 though so that might be worth investigating.

the nissan one doesn't cover up the sides.

yeah i guess the texture will be a problem, due to all the dog hair. is there any other spray that can cover these deep scratches? i just can't think of anything.

another option is probably the vinyl sticker...
