I took the family up to Mendocino for a midweek get-away recently.

Mendocino is a beautiful little town north of San Francisco along the rugged Sonoma Coastline. The pace is slow and calm and quiet. The absolute opposite from San Francisco when you are talking about towns.

The city sits along the shoreline just south of its sister city Ft. Bragg. Nestled up against the Pacific Coastal Mountains, these two cites isolate you from the "real world" by about 90 minutes.

Small cafes, farmers markets, bed and breakfast... Hiking, beachcombing, offroading... Yes! I did say offroading.

To make the story short we took the Armada to the Lost Coast. This is an area that has no paved roads. And in the winter, you dont want to be in there unless you have a highly prepped 4x4 vehicle or maybe dirtbikes.

We entered at the southern end via Usal Road as we were on our way to the isolated Usal Beach. The single track was somewhat challenging at times. But for the most part the Armada had no issues. After about 45 minutes of dirt roads we made it to the beach.

Usal Beach was spectacular in its isolation. We even had a herd of Elk wander over to feed. Enjoy the pics!

We didnt take any shots of the truck on the single track but I have some on my PDA/Cell which I will post shortly.

I will also be making a short MacBook video to post on YouTUbe. It should be entertaining. Going to try and make it like a Nissan commercial about the Armada.
