: New Owner of 2006 Armada
'06Smoke 09-06-2005, 09:25 PM Hello all.
I am new to this forum. About a week and a half ago, my DH and I purchased a 2006 Nissan Armada SE, smoke color, with steel leather interior. I found this forum while researching aftermarket DVD players for my Armada. I have 3 children including an 11 year old boy and a set of 7 year old twin girls. I NEED the dvd player! It is AMAZING at how quiet they are when we are going down the road and a dvd is on...whew...love it.
Since finding this site one night last week, I have visited every day. I have noticed that it's not only me that has just fallen in love with her Armada...as a matter of fact, my DH now call's it YOmada instead of ARmada since I never let him drive it...
For anyone looking for an aftermarket DVD screen, I have found the Myron & Davis 9" screen at Dr. Eddies in Huntsville for $549 plus shipping of $15, thanks to another poster on this site. I ordered it today and will have it installed professionally when it gets here.
Thanks for this forum and for all of the great information found on here.
:awesome:

My only memory of Nashville is breaking a windshield of a taxi with my head in front of Titan Stadium after someone T-boned us running a red light. Not happy. :comphead:

Well, I couldn't tell a difference on the lot in the '05s and '06s...but the '06 had the color I wanted, plus the sunroof and leather. I could have gotten a bigger rebate on the '05 but I didn't want one if I couldn't get it just like I wanted...anyway, my brother in law is a Nissan employee so I got it at 4.3% below invoice...I got about 7,000 off the sticker...so I was happy.
And no...no same sex anything going on here...I'm just a full time working mother and wife...busy busy busy!
Thanks for the welcoming! :D
'06Smoke 09-09-2005, 10:46 PM WOW that is awesome you got that screen for a good price but how am I supposed to order something from TN if you don't hook me up with a number or a website, please help me out and don't let them bother you I say ya'll and I'm originally from Miami =)
I didn't order mine off of a website. I looked up Dr. Eddies in Huntsville, Alabama on switchboard.com and called him to order it. He was very nice and professional...although I was weary at first. I got the screen by UPS today and it's perfect. I'm taking it tomorrow morning to be installed. Can't wait! Anyway, Dr. Eddie charged me 549.99 for the screen and 15.00 to ship it...no tax because I was out of state. I am so glad I found this forum!
inf3rno 09-11-2005, 10:31 AM welcome!! im looking at a 06 smoke sunroof but cloth... :( but i guess i cant do that.. so im guessing SE 4x2 bose and going for a aftermarket sunroof :) oh!! and please how about some pics pics pics of your new baby!!!! :D
Campfamily 09-11-2005, 06:26 PM Are there rebates on the 06's?
'06Smoke 09-11-2005, 08:34 PM Are there rebates on the 06's?
Yes, I got a $1500 rebate on the 2006. I'm going to go look for my digital camera so I can go out and take some pictures. You all wouldn't believe the hell I've been through this weekend over my dvd player. The screen works perfect and looks awesome, but the frickin' dvd player that I let Electronic Express leave in there didn't work. So I had to have that removed and I bought a Myron and Davis dvd player that will be installed tomorrow afternoon. I've been on a ROLLER COASTER ride over the dvd stuff! NEVER EVER EVER EVER LET ELETRONIC EXPRESS TOUCH YOUR VEHICLE OR JUST DON'T EVER EVEN BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM...THEY STINK!
'06Smoke 09-12-2005, 02:27 PM OK, should I post pictures here or in the other room for pictures? Where do ya want 'em?
ggeorgie 09-12-2005, 04:06 PM OK, should I post pictures here or in the other room for pictures? Where do ya want 'em?

OK, wait a minute...I've got the pics on my computer, now HOW do I get them on here?
'06Smoke 09-12-2005, 08:30 PM OK. Let's see if this worked. Here are a few pics...but it was in my garage...I'll have to take a few better ones when it's outside.
inf3rno 09-13-2005, 01:11 PM say 06smoke... have you tried the 3rd row of seats? how's the head space? because from the pics seems that 3rd row is roomy.
92TripleBlack 09-13-2005, 01:17 PM Do you have the mirrors with signals and power retract? If so, can you take a pick of the mirrors in action and the mirror switch? Also, a front and rear of the 3rd row seat please.
Thanks :urthebest

Looks like he has the SE, which means no blinking retracting mirrors.
llajumpvid 09-13-2005, 01:35 PM Also, a front and rear of the 3rd row seat please.
Thanks :urthebest
Yes please! Also a shot from the front of the 3rd row looking under the seat. I'm curious on how it mounts if it's drastically different or can be retrofitted to an 04/05.....should of been split to begin with.

It is split. You can see it in one of the pics. Passenger side is one seat wide, driver's two wide. ;)

I did get back there and sit to try out the view of the dvd...and it's not as roomy as the 2nd row because it's the stadium seating, but it's fine...especially since there will really only be kids back there...but it's fine for adults too, as long as they aren't too tall.
llajumpvid 09-13-2005, 09:03 PM It is split. You can see it in one of the pics. Passenger side is one seat wide, driver's two wide. ;)
Yea I meant they should of had a split seat in the 04's to begin with.
'06Smoke 09-13-2005, 09:49 PM Yea I meant they should of had a split seat in the 04's to begin with.
OK, is there something else ya'll want me to take a picture of? Lemme know....
'06Smoke 09-13-2005, 09:51 PM I'll take pictures of it all day long for ya if ya'll help me figure out if I need 1 channel or 2 channel headphones from Myron and Davis...
I'm smart on most everything, except electronics...
'06Smoke 09-13-2005, 10:03 PM Looks like he has the SE, which means no blinking retracting mirrors.
Yes, SHE does have the SE, and I don't have any fancy mirrors that blink or retract...BUT, my dad just bought a $75000 Lexus and his mirrors do that...it also has a windshield that senses the raindrops and turns the windshield wipers on automatically... yeah...that's cool and all, but how lazy do people have to be to not want to reach up and turn them on themselves? I think it's rediculous..just like the radio stuff on the steering wheel...but I use them like crazy! :D

Not any lazier than people who don't use the turn signal. That ticks me off to no end. But so do ciggarette butts being thrown out of peoples damn windows, especially when it blows back and hits the beast. Unfortunately neither one will change. I have picked them up and handed them back to people in parking lots and said "here you dropped this". The reaction is usually great. :offtopic: :machinegu
sinnerFA 09-14-2005, 12:34 PM How about them Titans??
I see the Titans-only parking sign in the last pic!

Yeah, yeah, yeah...ok...I know they suck this year...but I'm TRYING to be a loyal fan...I have season tickets ya know...I don't let them go to waste, going this weekend to watch them play the Ravens. Ray Lewis is always fun to watch. I'm just glad we didn't take Eddie George back!

Reading this literally made me laugh out loud...I feel the same way - drives me nutso!

The Jeep Grand Cherokee and many others have the rain sensing wipers. Something I can do without, even living in the Lightning capital of the world. ;)
My pet pieve is with dump trucks and landscapers, etc. who don't properly secure their loads and spray the front of my cars with gravel at 70 mph dinging the paint. I'd rather have a cigarette butt hit the mada any day over a rock. :machinegu
weezr17 09-15-2005, 02:08 PM HEY!
Something looks different on the dash. What is that thing RIGHT above the A/C knobs.....it looks like a little, ling rectangular screen. AND there is a ROUND thing to the right...what is that?

I think it is a screen for the AC controls. I believe the 06 gives everyone dual climate control. and the other is rear temperature and fan speed......the 06 gets all the goodies the Armada should of had stock from the beginning.

Here's a closer picture for you...the little screen is for the dual control air.
And whomever it was wanting to see under the 3rd seat...I took a pic of that too...and the view from sitting in the back.
weezr17 09-16-2005, 10:27 AM Thanks for the closer look! I have the SAME dash...well....I mean the FAUX CARBON FIBER look. I like it better than the plain look.
inf3rno 09-17-2005, 11:34 AM oh my!! really nice pics. but i noticed the 3rd row of seats (in the pic) has a hard and flat surface whether 2nd row is really thick... i was hoping for the 06 year they would put a bit more cushion on the 3rd row of seats but i can live with that
your mada looks really nice from the last 2 pics where you can see the dvd and sunroof. im hoping to join the list of madas owners soon, but i dont want to rush im looking my options, and SE base is the way to go so far, adding aftermarket stuff like sunroof and audio system :)
Djoker04 09-19-2005, 01:32 PM I'll take pictures of it all day long for ya if ya'll help me figure out if I need 1 channel or 2 channel headphones from Myron and Davis...
I'm smart on most everything, except electronics...
Circuit City has Wireless Headphones that work well and they are light and not bulky. I installed a 7" screen with infra red in mine and they work great.
For any one over 6ft sitting in the back is not wise. Talk about headaches  !!!
K
inf3rno 09-19-2005, 03:58 PM so you saying anyone not taller than 6ft is good to go for the erd row of seats? ummm doesnt look like..
