I had the same problem in my 04, and have the same problem in my new 05. I guess they fixed it on the 06. That amp works really well and does solve the problem.

Thanks

Just got in today. Question for those that have it, where did you splice the connection into? Also, where did you guys end up mounting it?

Thanks,

Thanks,

I spliced the "out" of the amp in behind the dash jack and have the box installed under the passenger seat. It's there only because all my other connections are there so I kept everything together. You can easily install it behind the dash and either run a set of rca's out to where you want to plug into or install it in line with the dash jack and plug your audio source in there.

Thanks for your reply. May seem like a dumb question, but which wires did you splice for the power and ground?

I cant get ANY sound out of mine! What the steps involved?

ipod cord with rca's > rca's to audio inputs on oem dvd player > hit aux button on dash > hit power on oem dvd player > still no sound!

what am i missing here?

TIA!

I don't have the factory but I believe you need to hold the rear A/V button on the dash down for 1.5 seconds to activate the dvd over the cabin speakers. Then activate AUX on the DVD, not the dash but on the DVD player. I suspect there is a button for AUX on the dvd remote...perhaps on the player itself. The AUX button on the dash is not connected to the dvd it is only for the dash aux jack.

I have an Aux input on my '05 also. However, I don't know if the base radio comes with one. I have the BOSE system.

I have every option but XM on my '06 LE, so yes i also have the Bose. The audio input isn't "cutting it" going thru the dvd player, so I'll just have to try the simple cable from the ipod to aux on the dash next......

Huh? I thought the "simple cable" is what we were talking about.
There is an AUX input on the face of the stereo. A simple headphone cable with a male end on each side, available at Radio Shack, etc. is all you should need. Plug one end into the Ipod headphone out, and the other end into the AUX input on the face of the radio. The main problem most people don't realize is you need to play the Ipod at max volume, as the input is balanced vs. radio, CD, and DVD with the ipod at max volume.

If you don't want to play at max volume, you can turn the stereo up more, or buy an aftermarket in-line signal amp. Some people use this. Personally, I keep the volume at 70% and raise the radio volume up so the batteries last longer on the Ipod. You can get a cradle for many Ipods that plugs into the car's power so it recharges and doesn't waste the batteries playing in the car, allowing you to play at max volume all the time. ;)

Correct. The post was started asking about aux input, but if you scroll back, my post, #14, I ask about using the audio input off the dvd player.

Im on my way to the crack shack, to see what they got. ;)

I have an 04 SE and I barely get any sound at all when connecting my mp3 player to the AUX connection on the dash. I have to turn the mp3 player volume to max just to get a little sound out of the AUX connection.
When I connect my sirius unit through the AUX connection I get no sound at all even when turing the volume up to max on the unit itself.

I have seen several posts regarding an inline amp but I was wondering if this problem with the in dash AUX is a issue worthy of a TSB???

Which inline amp should I get and how is it installed? In the dash and connected to the radio to power the AUX input?

I need help!!!!!!!!

I have read about several people having problems with the Aux input. Is the mostly from radios that don't have the Bose systems?

Hmmm... I haven't tried the aux input yet. Perhaps I should before I find out much later that it doesn't work very well.

I have an '06 Armada with Bose like some of the members here too. My ipod sounds great through the aux input too, just as loud as the radio. I bought a $20.00 Monster aux cable from Best Buy. It makes a huge difference, super clean sound with little or no back ground noise when turned up loud.
