Finally completed first mod. This is my Superpad Android Tablet 10.1. With the mada being much bigger than my FX it made easier to attach and detach.

Its a knockoff of course but I already have an EVO but this is somewhat equalivlant to the EVO it meets my need for an everyday tablet plus I can't compare to an IPAD. It does have all the functionality of an IPAD but for a much lower price. It has 2 usb slots, 1 TF slot, 3G modem, 1 HDMI and 1 RJ45.

What kind of "Knock Off" is it and how much did it cost?

Its made and shipped from china but there are some suppliers here. I was skeptical but for $175 I took a chance. However you can customize, root, mod and flash this tablet just like a phone. Mines is fully customize. China tablets or any android tablet forum.

thanks...i knew it was a knock off but i have never seen it in person. I was looking into other android tablets, mainly the asus transformer and the samsung galaxy. So there are ROMs for it? which means there is a dev community then. I used to have an iPad (from work), personally i dont know what they hype was all about.

did you test drive your new mounting? I would wonder if you hit a big bump the velcro would give and drop your tablet.

Not a problem at all. I drove the pass 3 days where it is now turning corners, dips, humps and all and it stays very well put. My FX I had a mount but I had to use velcro strap. Yes there is a dev community and everything you need to know about this pad. Battery life after modding I can go all day with wifi on and browsing the web before charging or turning off. Bonus.

Well looks good.....Im in the market for a tablet.

Is it micro-HDMI or HDMI out and does it play simultaneously on the tablet and output source?

Are you running google maps for NAV?

What mods do you have running ?

THanks man! Looks good

Andriod Tabs are OK if you want to play with roms and stuff. I have had 2 and both of them would freeze, lock up, it just seemed like every other week I was having to reinstall a new rom or update. I got a Ipad for christmas last year from my mom and I have to say it blows both of those andriod tabs out of the water. Its fast, no freezes, millions of apps, and I dont worry about if im going to loose everything thats on it since I can store it on Itunes.

Thats my 2 cents.

Its a micro-HDMI to HDMI. Custom root with Tims5b Rom. Plus 8-10 hrs of Wifi or Rj45 use before battery dies. Overall it does the job for half price of IPAD it just all depends on what your wanting it to do, for me its just pure entertainment. Also the functionality extras the ipad just doesnt have.

I work at an engineering firm and most everyone running around here runs Android (phones/tablets), guess Apple has it's fans somewhere.

My friend is running a customized nook, runs soo smoothly. You gotta know a thing or two if you wanna keep running em smooth but it really pays off in regards to features, price and customization
I've been toying with doing a "carputer" install myself, just don't know if I wanna take the time, the android mod is damn easy though...hmmm

Android tablets allow more customization sure but you dont have to mod or install a ROM to get the tablet to work. out of the box it works sweet. i have the xoom setup up stock non rooted and it has never locked up or froze on me. and i have had a xoom tablet since feb launch day.

ipad has no flash support. big no no..... html5 is not yet mainstream...

i have a RAM cup mount in the Q and i have an adroid app called Torque. it connects to a BT OBDII dongle to get realtime stats...

here is a super blurry and poor photo but i can take a better one if anyone wants to see. it looks great and the color of the gauges on the app match the color of the speedo and tach on the Q...

the green label top right of the photo is when i had the windows recently tinted.. it was the "do not roll down stickers.." :D

depends on what you what. the kindle fire at 250 bux is nice. you get amazons online services to boot. defiantly look at if before you look at a flypad.

xoom family edition is out at best buy.. 250 or 300 bux i forget. VZW was selling the xoom at 200 with a 2yr contract.

the xoom is a Google Experience Device so it gets updates first over the other android tabs.

So I was considering a DVD upgrade as my new to me 08 SE didn't come with one. Bought the wife an iPad for christmas and am now thinking of modding a mount for it in the overhead console where the factory screen would be. Seems it would be easy to route and hide a powerpoint up there plus a line into the aux input. No DVD discs to deal with this way. Anyone else thought of this? Hmmmmm, if I go forward with this I'll post some pics.
