They only need to be replaced if they're leaking, otherwise they're fine... I've had a couple replaced but there was fluid dumped all over the ground both times and my diff was all locked the last time.

That seems high. Just had mine done at my mechanic's shop for like $200.

Thanks for the info pops, I checked under it today and I don't see any leak anywhere, plus that beast stays in my driveway from night when I go to bed till afternoon next day when I usually take it for a spin sometimes I dont even ride until 2 days.. And there's never any leak under it.. I did noticed though, where Theres a metal cover under it not to big, I think is further back a little then where the transmission pan is, whats that under there the metal cover is protecting it.. If u guys can't take a guess, I'll get under it again and take a picture of it, what a genius I am, I went out there and looked at it and didn't get a pic of it, plus it started raining.. I think it might even be the last piece being protected by a metal cover plate..

Has anyone replaced the front pinion seal on their 4WD? I just took mine in to the dealer for a 24 point inspection and to check the exhaust manifolds for cracks. The front pinion seal is compromised and needs to be replaced. This is the second time it will need to be replaced, the first time at 27K miles - under warranty. I am not interested in paying the dealer $233 to replace something that has already been replaced.

They did find that both manifolds were cracked, so they will be replaced under the 80K warranty.

My vehicle has 77K on it, are there any other issues that maybe covered by warranty work?

Any help on the pinion seal would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Actually I came across this article on Titan Talk discussing how to replace the pinion oil seal. Look at post #13 as it is a very good write-up.

Pinion seal in my 2004 Armadillo gave up at 84K miles. I had to buy it from Nissan dealer foraround 60 bucks, and had local shop replace for 100 bucks.
