I installed these fenders on my basic '05 SE 4X4 and it just about catches everyone's attention. They repeatedly ask if it were a special Signature Edition or which '06 or '07 model is it? I changed the wheels to LE silver, added up & lower billet grilles, fog lights, pin stripe, tail pipe, Armada door name and 4x4 badges, rain guards, bug shield, tow package and reflective 3rd brake light with Armada name. I have the new Bosh brakes which are solid perfomers with no brake dust. It's fairly conservative as I am. I like some of the large wheel packages but start to look too gangster for my taste having a black car. Let me know your comments as I would assume not everyone would like the look. It is amazing how upscaled the fenders affect the overall apperance. NissanUSA should eventually offer future models with fenders as the Pathfinder, Xtera and Murano have nicely embellished wheel flares. I really love the look of this Beast.

Get them for $240. Any body shop should paint them for $100 with Nissan paint. Then buy some 3M double sided tape from a good autoparts store. Tell them you want the stuff they use for emblems in black. Apply and enjoy. I put my vette fender flares on this way. You could probably stand on them without screws ;) .

For me, I was attracted to the Armada because it didn't have any extra plastic on the sides like the GM's, Fords, and Sequoia. I prefer all painted sheet metal.
I think the Armada is large enough to stand on its own.
But ERBERTIS's look good because they seem to match well.

THANKS!! armagdn has got the right web site. They are the ATS Fenders. I had them paint coated color matched Galaxy. Installed them myself. They are high quality fabrications and well made. You do have to be careful when you install them. Alignment may require two people. If you install them slightly crooked it will be very obvious. The set of flares ran about $420 complete color matched painted and $39.90 for shipping. If you want to use your original mud guards, you may have modify them to fit. I put mine back on but the rear guards will not fit close. You will have to redrill them and use butterfly screws to secure them. Or you can leave them off. I think the look is worth the price. Go for it. Good luck.

Here are a couple more pics of my SE. The billet grill was done in two levels. Smaller grid for the upper and larger for the lower being a larger opening and can use the air flow. The bug shield is by Lund which is more streamlined than the one Nissan offers which stands too high. The fog lights are little funky because I have chrome light yielding film over them which I'm goint to take off. It's probably hard to see in the pics but the wheel caps are a platinum gold finish. I most like will keep the stock wheels as I think they are in keeping with the well designed crisp chisel edges of the Armada. Truly a great looking truck. Thanks for your response.

THANKS!!!. You got the right site! The finish product is excellent. It's best to have them paint them which would be right on the money with color match.

THANKS!! I see you are biker too. I'm a '05 FJR1300 owner and just like my Mada the bike is an equal favorite joy toy. Here are a couple of other pics showing my treatment to the front grille. Trying to retain an overall consistency of apperance to the truck. Last thing a may do for now is get the front windows tinted. Eventually, I will have to take closer pictures of all details not shown. The flares are manufactured by ATS available through Auto Acessory 4U.com. They have other good stuff also. Check them out. Keep truckin, riding and leaning.

GO FOR 'EM. They would look oustanding on your silver Mada. Especially with the definition of those chrome wheels. When the sun hits the top edge of the flares the silver metallic reflects around the edges of the wheel openings making the wheels look just SUPER! Shipping should be about $39 plus the $430 painted. The quality finish is excellent. Hope you get them as I am very pleased with apperance of my Mada with them installed. Attached is another pic at different angle. Your Mada looks good too!!

Very Nice looking truck very cool, I have a question did the fender flares comes custom so they will match up w/ the Gastank door on the left side? :)

YES, they are manufactured specifically for the ARMADA '04,'05 AND '06 models. Comes with all the necessary adhesive tape and screws for attachment. As noted, you have the option of having ATS color match paint them or have them painted by some other body shop. You can purchase them unpainted. However, I would recommend that ATS do the painting for the cost. They have the precise Nissan scratch paint code to match your vehicle's color. If you have custom wheels on your vehicle, the flares enhance the look and make them even better. I wouldn't be surprise to see Nissan introduce a model with similar flares since so many owners have asked about the possibility of adding them likje all the other issan car line-up. It is the way they had the impact on you when you saw them that is the very reason why I installed. I really love the look. Go for them if you don't mind the expense. Good Luck and thanks for response comments,

I somewhat agree, but the Armada's agrressive profile and size has way more
appeal than the sleepy designed 4runner hands down. The Armada being so large has a lot of blank side paneling from wheels to doors. Some kind of finish detail to wheel opening edges would definitely add to the plain shell look. The Q56 kind of did with a bead rim. Granted, Nissan has designed this car for pure fuctionality and simplicity of exterior design which is very well done with the shape alone. But there are many of us owners who just want to further customize it for their own personal identity and in some cases add better improvements over OEM. I do however wonder if oversized giant custom wheels help enhance the Mada's body design or handling. What do you think?

I just ordered a set in Granite for my 06 LE. I have already added 20" wheels with 305 tores. The flares will cover up that part of the new tires that extend beyond the wheel wells giving the wheels/tires a more OEM fit and finish.

I love this site. :D

COOL! BTW, how do you like the retractable mirrors on your '06? Are they standard on all models or another LE only standard? I have to fold my mirrors in to get in my garage on every entry and what a pain. I would like to find out if I could modifiy my '05 and install the "06 mirrors. Even if it requires aftermarket wiring and a cut-in switch on the insrtument panel. I wil do it.

Its just the price stopping most people. $500 a mirror. You could do HIDs for less. As for the flares, I like them. Can you get some closer pics of each one?
Thanks ;)

Yeah, I will try to do as little digital time to make some decent images. It seem many are interested in the look. Funny how the local Dealer indicated he could sell an Armada every single day if he could get hands on units with these wheel flares. And $500 a mirror ain't going to happen, at least not yet. Thanks for the post. :schla24:

I've been thinking of these for a long time, but want to see a picture of a Silver Lightning Armada with them before I leap. Meanwhile, I have found a really nice price at:
http://performancelifts.com/cgi-bin/cart/ATSA795876.html :excellent

PerformanceLifts.com has them painted for $379 with free delivery. Not too shabby a price.

Anyone do 'em on a Silver Lightning, please post a pic.

I was going to get a Silver Armada to do just this very thing. I liked the way the metallic silver reflects in the sun and defines the whole body form of the Armada. My preferences were only Galaxy or Silver Armadas. The flares in silver on silver emphasize just the right reflective edge to the plain panel facades of the wheel openings. The flares are fairly flat and neat not bulbus projections. No matter where I go with this truck, it becomes a conversation because of the flares and the appeal. The Armada is large relative many SUVs and has a lot of plain body paneling almost cartoon like. I think you will definely like the look of the added flares which seem unified with the overall vehicle because they match so well. I have not seen any others that work as well with the Armada's unusual body style for fit a nd finish. That's an extroadinary price difference for what they cost me. That should make the consideration even better. It is however very important that the color match your vehicle with Nissan color match paint only. If done by a local body shop, they cannot modify the paint. The Armada has only been out few years but I don't know how the paint holds up from sun fade on earlier models depending where one lives. My car is garage kept at all times unscathed by the elements as oppose to many that may park their cars outside. "Do the Flares and get the Stares". That's a real good price and should be posted for everyone who may be interested. Give us pic if you do it!!

I'm in tune with your opinion about the Armada. It was the Nissan brochure photo advertisiment of the Smoke Gray Armada profile positioned against the snow capped mountains in the early morning sunrise as a background that captured the entire well lighted structure and proportions which knocked my eyes out when I first saw it and I then knew this was the truck I wanted. The Ad was done very well to attract for sales. Somehow, when you see the real thing up close the linear proportions don't quite look like the brochure because the body panels are not air brushed. The real vehicle's glossy body paint reflects the body shape as a little more rounded. It was this reason I wanted to do the flares to the wheel openings. Thanks for your response as I too, think the flares were successful addition. :smart:

I was considering a larger wheel set and 20" was only as large as I would go. I'd be curious to see what 20" tire package you put together as I could only find very limited choices as oppose to 22"s and 24's. I really think the Nissan designers got the right tire proportions and look for the Armada body shape and overall look. Especially on the Galaxy Black or Silver where the bold chiseled 6 spoke design bright silver really reads well. Even better than chrome. I thought the '05 chrome trade off for special designed charcoal wheels on the SE models was down-leved to void brake dust. I was really dissapointed with the charcoal wheels on my black SE as it looked like a based delivery truck. No offense to anybody who has one and reads this. There are many who really like it and find the simplicity with the charcoal wheels on any color just fine. I had difficulty finding a wheel that works as sucessful as the OEM let a lone finding 20" BFG and Michelin rubber. Please post pic of your wheels. Would like to know if anybody else has 20"s and if the handling is is good with decent All-Terrain to keep on year round.

I've got 20's and just put on Nitto Terra Grapplers, and they rock! It rides better than it ever did with the stock wheels (which is saying a lot since I'm on 20's). The BFG's and Michelins are nice too, but the terras have a really aggressive look and are very quiet. Plus they're rated for towing and have a 60k warranty. I've read the Michelins are very nice, but some people complained that they didn't give anywhere near their supposed 60k miles.

Actually I did a while back in April. Tripleblack indicated they were Nitto tires which I am not familiar with but they look real good including the chrome wheels. They give his truck the look of being solid capable Off-Road or On-Road-ish! A look I really like where the wheel/tire package makes the difference. Even with that it can shine on the Boulevard. Thanks for the prompt, I got them flagged also. :crikey:

ERBERTIS
10-27-2005, 02:14 AM
adjmcloon, those must be the same tires that Tripleblack has. Actually those 20s and your chromes look real good. You've got serious beef on the ride which is needed for a truck with the Armada stats. I've never own a vehicle this big and believe it's crucial to stay within the perameters of specs when aftermarket modifying to retain the benefits the car was designed for. Though there are those individuals who know how to improve upon the standards. Those really large wheel packages with rubber bands less than I tie my mail up scare me for handling. I am assuming one has to give up something with regard to handling for the look. BTW, you got potent sound and some good things about the aluminum panel trims. Are your front windows tinted, if so at what percent? You got a real nice ride.

adjmcloon
10-27-2005, 10:43 AM
Thanks! Yep, the tires are the same as Triple's, but mine are 305/50's instead of 305/55's. Triple wanted maximum size, but he also had to mod a little bit to keep his tires from rubbing.

The Nitto's are killer tires! I agree with you- the Armada needs some more aggressive tires to compliment its' off-road abilities. I had Goodyear's on mine before I got the Nitto's, and one time I actually got stuck in wet grass. Talk about embarrassing. I won't go back to "street" tires again. Not only that, but the Nitto's, even though more aggressive, ride SO much better than the Goodyear's it's not even funny. They're about 100% quieter too. As for handling, they handle better with the Nitto's on 20's than they did with the stock Crap-i-nintals on 18's.

Audio-wise, I'm a musician and so I've always had to pull out the factory audio in my vehicles. The factory Nissan system (Blose) actually sounded ok, but the MB Quarts sound much better. :) Jason at Burtman hooked me up with the custom aluminum dash piece- I sent him a template and he had it cut. It was a little bit expensive ($200) but worth it.

The front windows are tinted at I think 30%. (Can't remember) They're the max that is legal in Texas. The backs are tinted a little as well- just enough to make them true "limo". Tint is a must down here in the hot south!

What plans do you have to mod your Armada?

While I dont care for all your mods, it is tatsteful and I appreciate your efforts. You asked for comments, so...
The added flares look alright, but I think that the Armada has a subtle flare which looks good stock. The added flares on the QX looks like an afterthought. At least yours have some meat to them.
The billet grills would look better in black
I dont like the added badging. The 4x4 badge is too Toyota and 4x4 doesn't require advertisement.
The pin stripe is sweet!

I like it when people personalize their ride and do something different. If it’s a mod I would not do myself does not mean its ugly. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Besides, If all things looked the same it would be a very boring life.
