 Installed it today...still awaiting the CAI from Volant, but couldn't wait. Reset the ECU as directed from ClubTitan.com and off we went!

Install wasn't as simple as they said, but still not bad. Had to remove the front hanger (the first one behind the cats) but otherwise it was uneventful. Would highly recommend a 6 point, 14mm deep well socket for the cats tho. Attempted to use a 12 point, 14mm wrench and looked like it was trying to strip (GAWD those nuts were friggin' ON THERE and my truck is only a month out of production!)...so I went to Sears and bought the appropriate tool and off it came without incident.

The material is of VERY high quality and just don't understand why they don't do this from the factory as it sound AWESOME! Deep and throaty and NEVER, even under full throttle acceleration, NEVER raspy. This thing rocks and cannot wait to get the CAI on Tuesday!!! May be a struggle for a sound clip, but if your hesitating b/c you think it will be too loud, stop hesistating and call SoCal! You will not be dissappointed. Nice and deep and hardly any drone, I mean...you ARE installing an aftermarket, throatier exhaust, so you DO want to hear it, right? If not...keep the stock, IMHO. The Gibson cannot be heard at 45-50 in top gear, just cruising...but under moderate acceleration b/t 40-60 seems to be the loudest, but I am telling you it is NOT loud. Just deep and throaty!!! I am diggin' the Armada v8 rumble...and I think it has surprised a couple people so far....gotta love it!

More update once the CAI goes on mid-week.

yo congrats on your new exhaust. I went with the borla dual exhaust. IMHO better grade and construction with Borla plus I just love the look of duals exiting my suv. I also am waiting for the Volant gen3 CAI from socal. I am jealous you got your stuff before mine. I have an 06 LE 4x4 Silver Lightning with tech.

I am in the process of doing a NAV MOD to allow use of the navi while the vehicle is in motion. so far I haven't figured out which wire to splice. I ordered a 24hr subscription for the 06 Nissan service manual. Should get snail mail confirmation code soon.

Definately like the Borla...but have been told it is a bit LOUD for suvs...but you know what they say about opinions. Borla and Gibson are the two best out there, no doubt. Just don't understand why they don't open them up from the factory. Actually I do. SUV's for soccer moms and low sound/emisions. Oh well...glad I am able to mod the mada myself and I enjoy doing it! This truck is something else, thats for dang sure!

Mine is an 06 LE 4x4 Granite...with sunroof, no navi/dvd. Just couldn't come off the $$$ for it plus at the time, there were only 2 granites within 400 miles of LR. I had to fly to STL to get this one. Isn't SW Airlines great!!!! LOL

Yo

I had to take the tech pkg to get the 4x4 LE o/w I was stuck with an LE 4x2. I think for a truck this size not to have 4x4 is a pity. I am looking for some chrome 4x4 emblems to show it off. If you see any on ebay let me know.

ALso keep in touch when you do your CAI.

If, like me, you don't need 4X4, but do need the towing capacity, the 4X2 Armada is a good choice. For me 4X4=more initial cost, more maintenance, more problems, more unsprung weight, and higher insurance costs. If you need (or just want) 4X4, fine. But for me and others, the 4X2 is the best choice.

did I read someplace that 4x2 is faster than 4x4?
