Just a question about the back up sensors on the Armada? Has anyone had an issue with them staying on (constant tone) when it is below freezing? I had mine washed and dried it off in a heated shop. The windchill here is 25 below zero and now when it is in reverse I get a constant tone. I tried cleaning the "lenses" on the rear bumper with no luck. My garage is at 5 below zero now. I am just wondering if the soap froze to the lense and is giving it a false reading.

I remember a lot of people having this problem last year with freezing weather. They will go off when there is a thin layer of ice on them. Haven't had that problem but I moved south so I didn't have to deal with the cold :) . But it was 25 here this morning and actually started to snow....I guess I can say it snowed as I saw a few flakes falling. :D

Born and raised in the mid-west been living in Houston for about 6 years now and can honestly say it is soooooooooo much better to sweat than shiver! :D

Well when the windchill hit 25 below it was a heat wave. When I woke up this morning it was 44 below with the wind and the actual air temp was 15 below. I don't know how (or why) we do it either.

60 and I shiver, lmao. Texas all my life, I don't see how anyone could go below 70 on a daily basis, lol.

I remember reading something about the sensors not working in below freezing temperatures (in the manual). I've read a lot of posts with this problem too, and not just on Armada's. Fortunately, yesterday was the only day I saw "ice" on my rearview mirror tempature readout :p

I've had this issue as well. It's intermittant, but it is most definately temperature related. Mine will come on at a solid tone, even when the backup sensors appear to be clean. I think it's an internal issue with the sensors themselves. I've talked to friends who own Denali's and Acura's with backup sensors - and they have the same problem. It's definately NOT an Armada-specific issue.

And Syko - you're right - I saw that last night as well! Just last night my Armada told me it was -2 F outside, and the ICE warning lit up. Thanks for the tip, computer, we would have never guessed there could be ice at that temp! :rolleyes:

Now that it has warmed up (15-18 degrees above zero) they seem to work fine. Just have to deal with the fact that it is now not too cold to snow... :eek:

Just wanted to say thanks to all who replied. It is the extreme cold that effects the sensors in the bumper if they get wet. The techs at Nissan told me that this is unavoidable in that kind of cold.
Just in case anyone is wondering yesterday it was 51 degrees in Northeast Wisconsin. I washed and waxed my Armada outside.
Old saying around here, "if you don't like the weather wait 10 minutes...".
December 24 air temp was 17 below with 44 below zero wind chill.
December 31 was air temp of 51 and all the snow melted in 2 days...
