I see a lot of pictures of Armada's but none with the Off-Road package or for that matter, none being driven in back country (4x4) situations. Does anyone here own an Armada Off-Road or 4x4? Do you use it off-road? How does it drive on and off road? Do you have pictures?

Thanks!!

I have an SE OR. Mine is basically an LE without heated seats. That was the only bummer. I do have the rear auto lift tailgate which I was surprised it had when I took delivery, I thought that was an LE only option. It has the big tow and the OR also has T-Case skid plate and lower 4low ratio. The wheels are also different 17 vs. 18. It drives no different on road, the tires may be a little louder but that is negligible. Here are some pics, I just have pics of my exhaust that show the t-case skid plate and a rear shot. (I need to take more) I do use it in the mountains a lot for camping and occasionally get my trucks in very rocky terrain so I went with the OR. It is more marketing than anything else (Except the 4-LOW ratio) the skid plate for the gas tank, front end and t-case are pretty thin. If it were really used OR a lot I would have these strengthened.

Thanks for the pictures and the information. As soon as I get mine and get it off-road I'll post some pictures. Perhaps that will encourage others to get theirs into the back country.

I went yesterday to an area called Four Peaks in the Tonto National Forrest very beautiful area by Phoenix AZ, had the wife and three girls in the mada so to keep them from screaming to much I decided not to go into anything very rough as they were already having fits with the cliffs on the side of us.

Here are a couple pictures....

Not to be off topic but has anyone tried a run on Pikes Peak Highway in Colorado Spring, CO?

I was watching the video from Jeep SRT8 and I guess MADA should be able to do it as well. :)

I was up there on New Years Day. 3 degrees F, 45 mph sustained winds. Talk about cold! We took it pretty easy on the drive, there were a few ice patches.

I have taken mine to the snow, but it's too new to thrash just yet. Nice to have the control though, even in the rain.

We took a week-long trip to central Baja in spring 2005.
The gravel road picture shows about the best piece of road we saw south of San Felipe. Includes a look at a soft car-top carrier that is the best travel investment I ever made.

The sign is a landmark on the Baja 500 and 1000 courses (at least on some years' routes).

Tire pic... says all you need to know about the fricken Conti's. That was the first of two flats on that trip - second one happened Easter Sunday at the junction of I-10 and CA-60 freeways. You can fill in the blanks...

The road for monument valley was not bad but the trip in to the canyon was fun. The river was frozen over in some spots and the sand was soft the Conti's held up very well in the mud.

Their almost too nice to take off-road, that's why I keep a Jeep. The snow on the other hand, I live in Alaska. Mine spends 8 months of the year driving on ice and snow, I'd rather snow!

Its not 4x4, But our local beach... can be driven on and it has some cool thick sand to run through.. Took the mada for some pics.. doesnt look like much when its just sitting there, but it's on a hill.. The truck was slipping back down as i took the pictures.. LOL

Its not a beach we go to, kinda dirty.. But you can drink a few beers out there and play in the sand. we have much nicer beaches for the kids to go to

Not with these pretty a$$ trucks! I'm not! The most off road I will be is a dirt or gravel road. Driving slow so I don't scratch up my $hiznit!

I did lots of 4 X 4 driving over the years and just being able to do it is what I need now. Back then, I did it for fun and to test the capability of the vehicle I was driving. I got into a few sticky spots, but I'm not doing that anymore.

hey there, recently foundout abt this group.
I m from dubai as well & i love off roading. I m planning to take my armada off roading soon hence would need your help to let me know how does this beast perfrom on desert & dunes.

I m used to dune bashing in my prado & i wanna take my armada soon but i m just alittle concerned about the ground clearance in the front, hoping it does not break my bumpers.

Let me know

This is the thread I used to do the Pinchweld Mod, it's really easy:

http://www.clubtitan.org/forums/showthread.php?t=13274

I used Duplicolor Truck Bed Coating from Autozone to spray it with.

For the front bumper side, I just used a sawzall to cutoff the inner lip where it might rub.

We have plenty of roads in Anchorage its the roads to smaller cities like the North Pole that arent paved that you really need a good 4wd. Anchorage is a pretty good sized city. Some people get the wrong idea of Alaska because of movies and word of mouth. We have everything that other states have but higher prices.

I wouldnt say everything....where I lived (Fairbanks) it took me over 7 hours of driving to get to the nearest Best Buy store (Anchorage). And that drive was on a 2 lane road.

When driving in Canada and Alaska, I found the unpaved roads better than the paved ones. The paved roads had many more Frost Heaves (Larger than potholes but smaller than craters) and the non paved roads were smother, even though mostly gravel.

Looks like big fun though on the off-rading tip!
