By the way they are marked down at Crutchfield.com, now $1499 (original was $1699). Got hit by the winter snow storm so don't think I'm going to be getting much use out of it today!

I'd be out playing in it:)....I remember those days growing up in Nebraska. We'd usually get hit with a big blizzard in the early spring and jump in the 4x4 to go play and pull out all the 2x4's that were plowed in then go sit at the local bar for a few hours.

Looks great!! Getting ready to purchase the AVN5495. Where did you get it installed? Also did you lose the audio functions on the left side of the steering wheel? I can find it on line for $1900. Know of anything cheaper?

Does the AVN 5435 play DVD movies? If so, really don't need the 5495. Your just paying for the hard drive space.

pqalfred97, i see that you're in boston too. i live up in billerica, north of boston, but work in the city. i got it installed in pensacola fl. but you can go to the website www.eclipse-web.com and find the nearest authorized dealership and have it installed there. that way you keep your 3 yr warranty, otherwise if you get it done somewhere else, you only get a 1 yr warranty. it does play dvd's, but you cant have nav running at the same time since the nav is dvd based on the 5435. on the 5495, i believe the nav system is stored on the hd.

I work at Downtown crossing myself. Right on Washington St. I'm moving to Atlanta in a month. The system sounds great. I found someone who can install for $1600 total. I think I'm going to screw myself because I'm going to have the installer bypass that "only can play the dvd in park crap". Did you by-pass that ? I think if I do that the warranty will be a bust. Also can I attach an ipod to this and play through the AVN5435. Trying to eliminate wires showing

I work on Summer St @ the Barnes Building. Thats a good deal ur getting on your system + install. I bypassed the dvd thing. I can play dvd's while in motion, for the passenger of course :D . I dont think this will affect the warranty though. Just as long as its installed by a certified dealer. What Eclipse doesn't know won't hurt. I have a Sirius satellite radio attached to my nav so I dont see why you couldn't do an iPOD. Good luck, if you wanna check out my set up maybe we can meet up around lunch time.

yeah i did lose my steering wheel controls, but i could have gotten a piece where i could use them, but it would have cost about an extra $100.. really not that important to me. i'll pm u about if ya wanna check out the set up.
