stupid question, what's the diff of the eco 3 and 2?

Its the size of the unit. The Eco 3 is larger and designed for engines with more fuel flow, like ours. Small engines that don't burn much fuel can use the Eco 2; the Eco 1 is for motorcycles, ATVs, etc.

Scr38 have you completed any testing on your Eco-3. I saw an improvement of 1.5mpg on my last tank and I will be filling up tomorrow. I am pretty sure I beat that this time because I have almost as many mile as last time and just hit E I know I can go a bit more with our large reserve.

I am still testing. My plan is a long term test. I think that will be more accurate. I will not post any results until I finish the tests, which will probably take another month.

I went to their web site, but did not see any info on how it works. How does it do what it claims to do?

Hey I will chime in and say it works... I just got my 3rd tank of gas and put in approx. 24 gal. and I was at 405 miles on that tank!! That's 16.8 miles to the gal.

Sweet, seems like quite a few people are getting a mile or more per gallon out of theirs. I haven't really seen a measurable increase in mpg. I think I have a little more pep though......I also think I have some bad sensor or settings as I only get a little over 10mpg city with or without the ECO....

I forgot to mention that 100% of those miles were highway doing like 80 mph or so... Now that I am back in town it looks like this next tank will not be as good.. give me a few days and I will post my 100% city driving

Reading the CT posts I would have to say that despite the comments about environmental variables affecting reliable MPG readings, I have kept track of enough tanks to realize that humidity, temp etc affect my MPG far less than the type of driving (communting, or freeway) and tank to tank my mileage is pretty consitent, so when CT members are saying 1-2 mpg I don't doubt that is possible.
But... If that is true,why isn't this device on every new car and truck (as someone had mentioned on CT)? Getting 1 or 2 MPG better than the competition would be a huge marketing coup when you are postin 12-13 MPG on the window sticker. Plus, with that kind of volume your unit cost drops significantly.

I think that your right, sounds like something is sending false signals.

I am now ready to report on my experience with the ECO.
I have over 5,000 miles of driving with it installed. I make the identical trips monthly, same cargo, same locations, same speeds and driving habits.
With the ECO, my mileage has increased by about 1 MPG, from 15.0-15.5 to 16.0-16.5. My best has been 16.7.
My Armada is a 04SE Big Tow, stock wheels and tires. I always have 500 t0 800 pounds of cargo, plus myself, 270 pounds. I set the cruise at 73, and the A/C is on 99% of the time.
I have not seen any added performance with the ECO. I have no way to test the emissions, but my tailpipe is very clean inside, no deposits of any kind.
With gas at $3.00 a gallon this is saving me $12.30 per 1,000 miles. The ECO will pay for itself in 21,000 miles, or less if gas goes up, which it will.

maybe, maybe not. I have probably close to 2,500 on my ECO and with the majority of my driving being city I haven't really seen an increase. So if you are doing a lot of city driving then you might not get any increase. If you do a lot of highway driving then the 1 - 2 mpg increase is possible.

I'd say isn't worth it. On a side note, today was the first time driving the Armada tto work, like 50 miles of city driving w/ a few highway miles. I don't know how accurate the fuel economy feature is, but I managed a best of 17.8MPG w/ the a/c off though. But I tell you what, I was going slower than grandma, especially taking off and looking at the computer the whole time just to see how I was doing. Forgot to say that when I started it the computer say that the average driving was 13.8, I'll be going to Myrtle Beach, SC tomorrow and will try to get ovewr 20MPG. I'll keep you guys posted.

I get a consistent 15.5-16.5 city (rural) and 18.5-19.5 hiway (75 w/ac). Thats calculated, no onboard computer read outs!
