I don't get it. I was at Discount Tire today getting a drywall screw taken out of my rear tire on the G35. A guy came in with an '06 Galaxy Armada LE. We started talking and I said I was looking at the Z06 vette and that it was cheap bang for the buck at $65k. He said yeah, that's basically what the Armada goes for. I said almost. I got mine for $46 out the door. He proceded to say his was $58k. I said huh? He then said he had all these BS features that it didn't have. He had a grille and pinstripe, otherwise it was stock. He said all these new features were why it cost so much more. Examples: 6 cameras, auto inflate/deflate tires, etc. He also said that he saw a used QX56 for $60k and that was the base price. He said the dealer with it was in a nearby town that has no Infiniti dealers.

My point is, why do people feel the need to be "posers". Obviously, if I said I have one, and I know right off the bat that his is an '06 and why, why would he try to BS me to try to impress me? Ridiculous.

I agree all you can do is chalk it up to insecurity. All though if I meet someone like that I usually call them on it. If this idiot paid $58k for an Armada when you can buy them for $500 over invoice just walking through the door he is an idiot. Actually get me his number I have some land I would love to sell for way more than it is worth!

I think he just got so wrapped up in telling lies/exaggerating to his buddies that he didn't know the truth anymore. BTW, he was about 40 and said this was his first car after owning MB all his life. :rolleyes:

There will always be folks (aka jerks) that BS to impress - some by inflating (like the one you met) and others by deflating (e.g. paid $6000 under invoice - boy, do they depress me).
