: Help me decide on some 22s
bg1906 06-30-2006, 01:55 PM I like 2 wheels by D'Vinci and can't decide on which ones to get.
I like the 22'' Vento w/Black Inserts (http://www.dvinciwheels.com/detail_ventob.htm)

I also like the 24'' Valores w/Black Inserts (http://www.dvinciwheels.com/detail_volore.htm)

Which do you guys think would look best on a Galaxy Black Armada?
Thanks in advance!

I would say the Valore's on the Infinity:cool:
BLACK QX 06-30-2006, 02:03 PM I was looking at the Volore's with the Black insert as well for my QX. I Couldnt decide between the Volore's or Gianelle Spezia 6's with the black cap (Look at my Icon). I decided on the Gianelle's and hopefully will be picking them up this weekend if everything goes as planned. But Im still kind of skeptical about purchasing 22's over 20's as Im worried about how it will effect the ride, and other aspects like brakes, and other extra maintenance with 22's. Whatever you choose, make sure to post pics!
BlakSpyda 06-30-2006, 02:06 PM  I'm digging the Vento rims!

I am considering 20s too. Is the ride that much harher on 22s?
BLACK QX 06-30-2006, 02:12 PM I am considering 20s too. Is the ride that much harher on 22s?
I dont know if its that much harsher, but every tire & wheel place ive been to tell me the same thing, that 22's will have a slight effect on ride comfortability, and effect on faster brake wear. I drive ALOT. 90% highway miles, so its a big issue for me. Im going to compare the 20's with the 22's this weekend, and Im hoping I like the way the 20's look on the QX or I might just stick with stock wheels until I can convince myself on 22's
BlakSpyda 06-30-2006, 02:23 PM 22s only cover more road surface so you feel more of it. Highway ride is very nice. I drove from MD to MN and back and loved the road handling with my 22s.
As far as break wear, there is no significant break wear with 22s on the QX56 or the Armada. These vehicles can tow 9K plus the vehicles weight, so adding 20s or 22s should have no relative effect on break wear!
My 2cents!

What kind of tires do you have wrapped around your 22's spyda?
ockevin 06-30-2006, 02:47 PM I would go with the second choice on rims....Both look different and unique !

Cool...around the corner! Once I get mine we got to hook up bro!
pkarmada 06-30-2006, 10:53 PM i am not putting chrome or black on my galaxy colored armada. Figured a plain gigantic 24 inch silver wheel would look ok. I will post pics next weekend when i have them put on and i will also let you know how much harsher the ride is on 24 inch wheels. I am going to have a 305-35-24 Kumho tire they were rated very well on road noise and comfort as well.
macel15 07-01-2006, 03:39 AM In my opinion, the vento looks better.

I've got 24" wheels and the ride is only slightly more harsh than stock. Really nothing to complain about. The only noticeable difference is in acceleration. Braking seems the same as well. The jury is still out on mileage. Can't really tell because I just changed my driving patterns with a new job and have nothing to compare it too. I would go with the 295-40-24's. With the 35's you will really be a bit more rough over the bumps and the 'mada looks just as good with the 40 series tire.

As far as 22s what would you suggest...I was thinking 305/45/22?
BLACK QX 07-02-2006, 12:43 PM Yes, 305/45/22 is the size tire you would want to get. The more sidewall the better.

Same size as what I had when I my 22s on.

Hey Macel, you said you had 22's, why did you remove them? Just curious. Anything to do with the quality of the ride? Thanks.

I was trying to sell it so I can get a different one that I saw recently and liked alot. I can't seem to find a buyer so I might just put them back.
galaktified 07-03-2006, 09:55 AM Cast in a vote for me... Ventos!
peach 07-03-2006, 02:49 PM Ventos are my choice as well. Classy, not flashy. Just my opinion.
bg1906 07-07-2006, 10:47 AM I did a photoshop hack of the Armada with Ventos what you guys think?

Looks good. Your photoshop skills are spectacular compared to mine lol. Ive decided I might go with other wheels. Check these out, also made by Dvinci. Do you think you can photo chop those on that black qx for me!? LoL.

I was going to purchase those same exact wheels with the black inserts for my QX, untill I saw the wheels in person. They didn't look as nice in person as they did in the photos. But to answer your question on 22's or 24's, personally Id stick with 22's to maintain the ride quality.
bg1906 08-03-2006, 02:57 PM Thanks guys, I got the Ventos. They've shipped UPS and should be here next week. I got more MODs to add so I'll shoot flicks when I have the finished product!
This is fun!
Peter Benger 08-03-2006, 10:00 PM Looking forward in seeing those flicks.
I could not decide - I think it was that ugly P.O.S. H3, that kind of ruined it for me. I am sure they will look great on the Armada. The Volares looked out of place on the FX. At least the FX looks like a SUV. That H3 is not exactly a jewel in its stock looks, but with all that SH!T on it - what were they thinking:eek: I think I am going to have nightmares:mad:
Keep us posted.
BLACK QX 08-08-2006, 12:25 AM Great choice! Cant wait for the pics.
bg1906 08-15-2006, 03:53 PM Great choice! Cant wait for the pics.
Test fitting went great on Saturday. Get them put on today. I'll take pics in a few days after I add the rest of the exterior mods coming in the next few days: Burtman spoiler, Dunder Grill (Chrome), Lund Interceptor Bug Shield (Smoke), Wade In Channel Vent Shades (smoke), Chrome Pillar Posts, and OEM Nissan Sunroof Shade!
bg1906 08-15-2006, 11:27 PM They look awesome guys, pics will come soon once I add the other goodies coming this week!
bg1906 08-21-2006, 08:51 PM Fellaz...All is coming along well. I should have pics for you guys sometime this weekend. I installed the Burtman Spoiler today and I really like it. The sunroof shade/deflector came today and I have to install that still. But other than that, the bug shield (should be here in the next day or so), and bumper grill of my Dunder 4 piece grill set is all that's left to install. The custom badging for my beast (I named the 'mada KONG) has also arrived and my brother and I just have to put the letters on. I really like it guys, I hope you will too. I promise to have pics soon.
Not trying to get off topic, but has anyone weighted a stock 17" or 18" rim w/ tire and compare them to an aftermarket one w/ tire? Not always bigger means heavier. For example, when I was into drag racing I found out that my stock 17" wheels w/ tires were lighter than my 15" weld racing prostars w/ drag radials by 3 pounds.

If I remember correctly, stock OEM 18" wheel with tire is 72lbs.
The lightest 22" I could find was at least 20-30lbs heavier and all in the wrong place. Along the rim and not the hub area.
I was close to getting some Centerlines that are almost as light as OEM, but recently i heard some of these Centerlines are defective and the tire beads are popping loose.
Bottom line, big wheels are strictly for looks. And nothing wrong with that.
norcal05SE 09-03-2006, 02:18 AM stay away from the centerlines!!!! my shop doesnt sell them, but we've dealt with people in town who bought them. one customer had 35x12.5-20 toyo mts on his centerlines. they cracked after 6 months, not hard use, just daily driving around town. and they have had some major recalls on them. like i said, i havent sold them personally, but have heard nothing but bad. as far as weight, well, big rims = more metal = more weight. almost nothing you can do about that. but on a vehicle rated to tow over 9k lbs, the slight addition in wheel weight is not going to make much of a difference, imo.
