I had a flat on one of the Conti's a few weeks ago and pulled out my spare from under the vehicle. The spare was put under there so tight that the side walls had indentions in them from the frame under the vehicle. I contacted Nissan Corp. to let them know that I had a brand new tire that was not in new condition because they cranked it up there so tight.
Their response came about a week later stating that this is normal because of the design and that it would fix it self. Obviously you and I know that it isn't going to and hasn't fixed itself. I explained to him that I was dissapointed in their asessment but was not able to get him to change his mind. If they wouldn't have cranked the tire up there so tight, I don't think the indentions would be there.
Should I be fighting this further with them? Would you? I have 4 new tires and that one is back under the vehicle but it still pisses me off.

:damn: :damn: :damn: I feel you, but it is probably not worth the fight on that one! The Contis are not good tires anyway, but frame dimples on a spare are typical on full size SUV tires. I had the same issues on my previous two SUVs.

You may want to compare it to another Armada ( look at it ), and see if they are both the same or not. if its the same, I don't think you have a valid claim. but really if it is dented you might want to fight it. I would really be pissed if it is dented.

How do you guys check the pressure of your spare? Previous vehicles I have owned (Durango, 4runner) had the spare face down, so checking the pressure was easy. The Armada is face up, and my fingers are too big to reach the stem.

Go by your auto supply store and get a extension hose for the valve stem. It is long enough to connect to the valve stem and drop down through the center of the wheel where you can reach it.

Duh! Never thought of that. Thx.
