Hello.

I'm a new RVer with a new '06 SalemLE 31QBSS TT with my '04 mada SE w/tow package. I've got the dual cam sway control setup from REASE and my first 2 camping trips, albeit short trips, have gone very smooth. The mada handles very well with my TT.

One odd problem though is when I unhitch at my RV storage site, the rear suspension won't lower in a reasonable amount of time. I open the reciever latch to unlock the ball, jack the TT up, and the mada gows up with it.... I wait, and wait, and wait, and nothing.... Now each time I've had the mada turned off when unhitching and someone told me I need to have the mada ON to enable the auto leveling system to lower the ball from the reciever. The kicker is I haven't had this problem when unhitching 3 other times with the mada turned off. The system lowered each time with the engine off. My storage space is at a slight grade downhill.

Any idea on the proper way for the auto leveling system to lower the suspension/ball when unhitching?

Also, I've got orginal tires on my '04 mada with 40k miles on them. Looks like the Mich Cross Terrain's are getting good press. What's your thoughts on new tires for my mada/rig combo?

Thanks in advance....:hi:

Welcome to the club.

I hear good things about the Michelins and Bridgestones. I have Coopers, but I also have 22" wheels and get quite a smooth ride from them. No input on the trailer thing, but I am sure you will get an answer on here before the end of the day.

No problem and thanks for the compliment. I got a couple of pics in my Gallery. Check 'em out when you get a chance. A few more mods coming soon. I'll post pics as I complete 'em!

Are you sure the hitch is releasing the ball? Does it release with a bang, or just slowly drop down? If the first, you need to adjust the hitch mechanism on the trailer. If the second, don't know what to tell you, I don't have that problem when unhitching. When I've first unhooked, the back of the Armada is a bit high, but not so high that I can't unhook. Keith

When it's worked properly (which means anytime I'm not trying to unhitch at my storage space) it slowly lowers. At my storage space, it's like the receiver hasn't released the ball and it usually happens with a bang. Again, this only occurs at my specific storage location which has me parking a grade and it's a little uneven side to side as well.

Sounds like you have a lot tension between the trailer and the tow vehicle. The trailer is probably rolling forward / backward against the ball. I'm not sure there is much you can do about it, try chocking the trailer wheels before you release the brakes, that might help.
