I've noticed with my 04 LE Armada that when I'm backing up and turing the wheel hard left or right (all the way) the drivetrain feels like its getting stuck and there is a bucking...we usually keep the truck in all wheel drive...does this have something to do with it???

seems when i drive 4 wheel vehicles and i am turning slowly i think i feel the same thing you describe.. so i would say yeah its due to the 4X4....

That is definitly what you would be feeling when in 4H/L. You may be experiencing some slight slip when turning like that while in AUTO causing it (4X4) to kick in. :crikey:

If you have the 4x4 engaged on dry pavement, yes you do have to worry. You will destroy the transfer case and diffs driving like this. Make sure you are in 4x2 or Auto 4x4 and not Lo or Hi 4x4 unless you are on dirt or in substantial snow.

I'd bring it in then. If it is working properly, you should be fine in Auto. There may be a problem in the trans or the switch which is engaging 4wd when it shouldn't. Good luck.
