I think it would be cool to have something on the main page, like a chalk board, that we could write on but not be there forever. A spot that would be erased at, say, midnight every day. We could give shout outs and what not to people we see who are online. Different than a private message because everyone could see it.

I think we should have something besides the same three (old) messages from m4ck. No offense m4ck:D

It could be run the same way as the rest of the site. Just like when a spammer signs up here and then spams the forum, m4ck or one of the admins boots them out. In order to write on the board, you'd have to be a member.

I hate not being able to do cool stuff because something bad MIGHT happen. Don't drive your armada on a public road, someone might crash into you. In fact, don't leave your house because you might get mugged! Stop taking medicine that can make you healthy because the germs might grow an immunity.

Maybe we should get rid of Club Armada. I realy hate spam!:eek:

I am up for the CHAULK BOARD thingy too. Great to announce any special events, etc.... as far as spammers, i don't worry, have to be member to post.

Chaulk board sounds great. Spammers usually sign up just to post there BS and do not post more that once and get busted out right away!:mad: I know that I call 'em as fast as I see 'em!:051: If we do it, there should be a restriction on first time posters. A member should have at least 5 posts before they can post to the Chaulk (bulletin) Board.

I aggree and to be more drastic, In order to post on CHAULK BOARD, member has to be at least 25 posts in order to be allowed.

that's the ticket everybody! NO LURKERS! your status has to be at least Shift_Newbie. Right on! Now we have to come up with some perameters for size and placement. Then of course, we have to convince m4ck:D

The chat programs and shoutboxes slow the server down too much. That is why we no longer have chat software. I have done a good bit of research on this. There are some that are getting better but they still put a real drain on the server which in turn slows down the sites. I cant sacrifice the sites speed for having a shoutbox. I will keep the idea open and keep looking into it though.
I am definately not killing the idea just give me some time and I will keep trying to find a suitable solution.

Thanks m4ck! maybe making the sites more addictive isn't a good idea anyway.LOL We should start weening ourselves off of CA and CT and maybe start spending more time at stitch&*****.com:eek:

Ok after I posted I went ahead and installed shoutbox. I will give it a try for a day and check how the server does. Please make sure it is not abbused. Same rules apply to the shoutbox just as they do in the forum posts.
