: last min.Towing surprise!info
SeaBlue06 09-26-2006, 10:30 PM My 06 Armada ,not a trailer package vehicle , has a dealer installed new Nissan tow bar at purchase .3 months later When I finally needed to hook up to my 18' boat trailer for the first time due to an approaching tropical storm to pull it home I found I had only the left brake light working on the trailer , no directionals ,no parking lights ,strange, all the trailer lights were working when I traded in my 150,000 plymouth voyager on the Armada.I had also in preparation for towing purchased, at the auto store, a round Nissan 6 pin to flat 4 pin adapter for the trailer lighting .But There was no electrical power going to that round 6 pin plug on the Nissan tow bar except for the one left brake light.
My dealer found that I needed a missing relay installed in the Armada to send a signal to the plug .Fixed under warranty mostly since they are the ones who failed to figure they needed a relay along with the towbar. The dealer service mgr.seemed to know right away the problem so I think this must happen frequently but I figured it was worth posting just in case someone else has this problem at the last minute like I did by assuming all the lights would work .I trusted the dealer but I Should have checked the trailer light operation sooner.
ggeorgie 09-26-2006, 10:52 PM I added the tow hitch ( I tow diddly, I got it just for looks ), it does come with 2 relays, make sure both relays are there.

Still available, no takers so far, I would rather sell it to someone out of state, B/C I don't want to sell it to someone here in California and have them have the same problems I had registering it.

Well, I bought this moped from AZ from a private party, as you know its 06, and it has 175 miles on it. Practically new. anyway, the DMV in CA refused to register it unless it has an EPA sticker. and I tried all moped dealers and no one is interested in slapping the stupid sticker on it, also, the DMV told me if it has 7500 miles on it then they can register it with out the EPA sticker. no problem,:crikey: Now I would rather sell it to some one from outside CA, so that they will not have problems registering it like I did here. But if it did not sell, I am in the process of moving out of state, I'll take it with me.

Ahhh! Understood. That sucks. Have you tried finding a used speedo, with 7500+ miles on it? slap it on, get that silly EPA sticker, get i registered, reinstall the original speedo and sell it. I know, it probably sounds easier than it is. Have you tried selling it on Fleabay? Best of luck. Just my 2 cents.

Maybe you can rig up an electric (drill) motor or something like that to run the speedometer cable around until it reads 7500 miles. Kind of like sleezy used car salesmen except you'd be running it forwards, not backwards!
