We are headed out to the hill-climb on Friday and camping in the toybox until Sunday. My 16yr old son is running two classes this time ~ stock 250F/125two-stroke and the stock 450F/250two-stroke class.
The boy surprised me and everyone else at the spring national and won the 250f class hands down. He is too crazy for me to ride with anymore so I did not know how good he had gotten. When we go riding (my two sons and myself), I have to bring one of my oldest sons loony teenage riding buddies for him to pair-up with since my younger son and myself don't feel like killing ourselves going where they go.
If anyone goes, look for Nick Hoaglan in blue helmet/white and red gear on a Yamaha YZ250F and a YZ426F. He should do well since he is even faster (lots of practice) than he was in the spring, and he is really pumped to rip the hill with fresh tires. The Armada & Rage'n toybox will be parked just outside the pits along the main access road (I hope). If you attend, stop and say hi and cheer him on. He is competing on Saturday.
Here a pic of him in getting "in the zone" in staging during the spring national, little bro is clearing out the knobs. BTW he was two seconds faster than the closest competitor even though riding a 5 year old hammered bike equipped with a rear tire he found in a dumpster the week before!
