Where does everyone get there oil change i am think Jiffey lube are should i do it my self. Has anyone had any problems with Wal-mart or Jiffy lube, Nissan ETC.

I am at 900 miles but i have had the vehicle for 3 months and i dont want to go over 1000 miles for my first oil change. Looking for input

Check with your dealer. Many have specials for their customers. I have my oil and filter changed by my dealer. They also check tires, all other fluid levels and check out everything under the vehicle. My dealer does this for $9.95 total. Much better deal than I could get anywhere else.

$16.95 at my dealer, 30 minutes or its free, and they'll even wash the car if I want.

Can't beat it.

I picked up a nail in a tire on my 4Runner and went to WalMart to get it patched, big mistake! They over tightened the lugs and 3 snapped the next time I had to take the wheel off. I don’t think I would let them get near my 40k truck. Screwing up an oil change could be disastrous. :eek: Heck I don't even trust my worthless dealer.

The oil change drill is not too bad. The only hassle is you need to pull 2 bolts and loosen 2 to remove the front skid plate to get at the filter. Oh yea, Irontoad.com has really a good deal on OEM filters and crush washers, plus they ship fast. I bought 8 of each for $48 with shipping.

$9.95! How did you do that? I just had my first oil change and it was $34.95 plus tax. I guess I need to ask a few questions next time.

My first oil/fillter change was free from my dealer. All after that have been $9.95. Going to have another tomorrow.

Just check your manual, but it's probably not necessary to change yet. Some folks (myself included) like to change out early. I run Mobil 1 synthetic in mine.

Just for grins you might also have the differential fluid changed at around 3k. Early build Titans were having some issues with low fluid levels, and recently Nissan issued a TSB to change the diff fluid to a higher temp synthetic. No problems on the Armadas that I know of.

I'm a big fan of changing my own oil. It's an easy job - less than 30 minutes. Plus it gives you a great opportunity to git under the truck and give it the once over for obvious problems/leaks that might be sneaking up on you.

The Armada is high enough that you can do the change without a jack. The extra drip rail under the oil filter makes it a very clean job too.

All you need is a couple of rags, oil, filter, crush washer and a couple of wrenches. Enjoy the opportunity to commune with your vehicle.

I change my oil every 3 month not every 3000 miles it will take me 6 month or better to reach 4000 miles on my Armada, which means i would only chang my oil twice a year
that just does not sound right. This is my first New vehicle so i dont know if i should ride it out to 3000 or just change it after brake in.

"Do time have precedence over miles?" I think oil changes are specific to the driving conditions and the driver not time or miles but i would like to know more detail info about factory brake-in.

I do mine every 3K miles. First one was at 1500 and I switched to Mobil 1. :machinegu

The first 1k oil change is the most important one. It shouldn't be rushed. You want every last drop (metal chip) out of there because it will pay off big time in the long run. Let it drain over night and fill it in the morning. You may even want to leave the drain cap off for all or part of the first quart of new stuff just to push everything out.

If you do it yourself you can then run synthetic for about the same price as a rushed oil change and get that much more performance and protection. Most auto parts stores will recycle your oil for free so that is no longer a concern either (except maybe getting it there without ruining your carpet), even those sealable drip pans leak.

Sounds like Mobil 1 is the way to go.

You can get Mobil 1 at Wal-Mart for around $20 for a 5 quart jug. Not a bad deal...
