Sounds like someone threw a bag of marbles in the trans tunnel.. Anyone got any clues ?

There are some funny noises coming from the tunnel ocasionally.. sounds like someone let a bag of marbles loose in there.

There was an answer to this before we lost the posts. Hopefully someone will repost!

I posted if it could possibly be engine ping? But it got wiped out during the server deal.
That is the only thing I can think of that sounds like marbles.

maybe marbles is a wrong description... sounds like a fan hitting the shroud in the tunnel.. does the trans cooler have a extra fan on it?

The transmission cooler is located in front of the radiator, not in the transmission tunnel. Check the transmission mount bolts at the rear of the transmission.

Maybe pieces of the catalytic converter have broken off inside of itself. This would create some racket in that general area.

It is DEFINATLEY a RPM related noise... Let off the gas noise goes away... :D

If you have a bad universal it will sound like rolling a bag of marbles in your hand. Also if your output shaft bearings on the tranny or the transfer case is well worn or real low on fluid, it will sound like that.
