: Key For Key Exchange
PHLOCKER 11-17-2006, 02:44 PM So i get this letter in the mail from my dealer (Legend Nissan, Syosset, NY)
RE: Key for Key Exchange Program
premise is that you can exchange your current Nissan (04 LE-no Nav/aftermarket DVD) for a BRAND NEW NISSAN. they are also going to pay first month of your lease/loan up to $1000.00..
I love my Armada (37K) bought in August 04...would it be worth looking at trading it in for a new one fully loaded, my last statement has my buyout at $21238.72 KBB values are
Trade in $22,625
Private $26,105
any suggestions???
BlakSpyda 11-17-2006, 03:15 PM If you are getting new and more options for the same payments with a new warranty, i'd do it.
Just my opinion!
PHLOCKER 11-17-2006, 03:24 PM think i'll go rough em up them on Monday...have to go for an oil change anyway....
BlakSpyda 11-17-2006, 04:05 PM I'm curious to see what they really offer!
PHLOCKER 11-17-2006, 04:39 PM perfect part is that i dont have to sell nor do i have to buy.....if they meet my terms we may have a deal, if not....buh-bye
BlakSpyda 11-18-2006, 10:52 PM As long as you have the advantage, take it!
galaktified 11-19-2006, 01:35 PM seems like a great deal. i wonder what's in it for them? keep us posted bout the thinking behind the promotion.
ftnssn 11-19-2006, 01:57 PM the length of the loan is probably really long. there is never a free lunch with car dealers.
Campfamily 11-19-2006, 02:18 PM I get those every once in a while. The dealership can't make a sale unless they get you to visit, so they send come-ons like this, hoping to get you to visit. Any dealer should be able to get you into a new car or truck for the same payment; the variables they have to play with are length of the loan, and the options on the replacement vehicle (which defines the price).

06armadaSE4x2 11-20-2006, 12:32 AM i have gotten those before. Just plain and simple....scam in my opinion.
In the end, ppl can't even say who in their organization sent the letter out.
PHLOCKER 11-20-2006, 11:15 AM Oh, i agree that its most likley a scam, just enjoy going in and playing with them......
06armadaSE4x2 11-21-2006, 12:23 AM well as long as you are aware, then it is fun. some ppl don't know and walk out frustrated....
SJYokel 11-21-2006, 10:21 AM That's actually how I became a Armada owner. Had a 2004 Titan SE we loved. The local dealer changed management...sent a mailer saying they knew our Titan was in great shape since they serviced it and would offer "top" trade-in and bonus cash off a new vehicle so they could re-establish themselves. I went in severly skeptical and picked up our new Armada LE two days later for less than my math calculates they paid for it...not to mention getting $1500 over KBB trade-in value for the Titan. Sometimes I guess they just need to move cars and must get some hidden motivation from Nissan to do it. Love that Armada!
On the other side, I can also say I checked out a similar offer from the GMC guys in town a couple of months ago and there were no deals to be found.
Good luck with the shopping!
galaktified 11-23-2006, 10:07 PM So how did the deal go?
spta97 12-07-2006, 11:21 AM A buddy of mine got a letter from his Honda dealer on a lease. He ended up getting a brand new Pilot for a lower monthly payment and they ended up eating the remainder of his lease.
I think that dealers can do better on used cars and if one is selling well they would look to buy it back, mark it up, then sell it to someone else.
I actually stopped by Legend Nissan and was underwhelmed with the tiny size of the converted ski lodge that they call a dealership. More over, I heard the sales manager cursing at one of the sales guys and telling him how he has to take better control over his customers (with me sitting right behind him!).
How did you find your experiance there?
PHLOCKER 12-07-2006, 04:16 PM i had a good experience there (better then Baron), they were all friendly and polite, service has been just fine...
spta97 12-07-2006, 09:20 PM Did you end up getting the new Mada or keeping yours?
