I didnt purchase my 04 Mada with navigation, so the other day I purchased a magellan roadmate from Ebay. I was just curious as to how much information the stock Mada nav system has as opposed to an after market unit like the roadmate 760. The one I purhcased has touch scren POI instant info, voice notification, detour rerouting, 3 map screen views including split screen 3D, and a multi-stop trip function. I just dont have any kind of MPG calculation.
What if anything am I not getting with this kind of system? I know its not as nice as having it built into the dash where it belongs but the price was right, and it serves the purpos for which it is intended.
Let me know.
Happy T-Day All.

I believe the OEM also has the tire sensor thing, to let you know which tire is low on air, or MPG. I have an aftermarket Clarion navigation and installed it in the navigation housing. paid $599.00 for it, How much did you pay for yours if I may ask?,
I did a last minute bid and won the ebay auction for the roadmate 760 for $312+20 for shipping. I dont think I need to know what tire is low when the sensor alerts me of low air pressure. Any suggestions on running the power cord from the gps unit to the outlet? Mine just hangs there, not so attractive.

i was looking at GPS units with an installer and he was going to mount in in the tray on top of the dash, drill a small hole on the bottom and hardwire it (i did it with my Passport Radar) I hate the look of wires .....
