: QX56 2004 vers QX56 2006
Andreas 11-28-2006, 01:05 PM Hi Guys!
Here I am again with a serious question:
Has anybody experience with the QX 56 2006 concerning the interiour-quality,
the squeaks and rattles?
The 2004 is terrible in this case. I did a whole lot of work on it but still it is
not 100% quiet on rough roads.
So how is the 2006??? Is he better?? or still rattling and squeaking?
I depend my decision of buying a new QX to your answers.
So please be onest - I can not testride a QX here in Germany.
Nice greetings from Germany!!
BlakSpyda 11-28-2006, 01:14 PM I cannot speak for the QX owners, but if the 2004 Armada compared to the 2006 armada is any consolation, they really improved the noise and vibration. I remember reading a thread stating how loud it was with all of the rattles and how the soundproofing was not done well in the '04. I have an '06 and I don't have any interior vibration or soundproofing issues!
Campfamily 11-28-2006, 02:40 PM I used to own a 04 Armada, now I own a 06. The 06 is far better than the 04 in terms of interior noise level, rattles, as well as the overall feeling of quality. We also have not had any issues with our 06, other than a short in the puddle lights that caused the interior lights to stay on. Dealer fixed it for us quickly. We are very happy with our 06 Armada.

esMada 11-28-2006, 02:56 PM I held off from buying a 04' Armada when it first came out because of the numerous problems they had. However in Nov. 06' I bought a 06' Armada. It is definitely better, no sqeaks or rattles, no brake problems... nothing. My brother has an 06' QX56 for about 5 months now, he loves it and says it rides as good as and is as quiet as anything else out there. In other words, it's a perfect vehicle, you will not be disappointed with it. They have fixed the squeaking and rattling problems. Hey how life in Germany?
BlakSpyda 11-28-2006, 03:29 PM Yeah, where are you in Germany and are you from there originally?
Andreas 11-28-2006, 03:52 PM Thank you for your quick answers, which give me a good feeling buying another QX. So far and beside the issues I had, I love that car...
And yes, I am an original german. My american Uncle, who lives in the Chicago-area (he was born in Germany) calls me "Kraut" and sometimes he goes: "...no wonder you guys lost the war..."
I live near a small town called Haltern, which is about 60 miles north of Cologne.
And man - I can tell you - everyone get´s big eyes, seeing my car.
Here by us it´s real exotic.
And the mechanics from the lokal Nissan dealership have their fun with the QX, erverytime I stop by...

Hi Nabor!
Do you speak german or did you use a translateprogram?
- I did not - as you can see...
PHD007 11-28-2006, 06:47 PM My 06 Mady has some issue. For instance the rear windows.
1. If you roll the windows down half way you can move the pane of glass back and forth in its glider. You can hear the window rattle at times.
2. On bumpy roads I can hear the top part of the rear door panels bang back and forth. I dont drive crazy or anything just at times when there is really rough roads the door panels shift differently with the car.
3. Third but not least, The driver seat cushion sqeaks a **** load. So frustrating to hear that bottom cushion sound on bumps.
BLACK QX 11-28-2006, 08:00 PM So far my only complaint with my 06 Qx is the squeeking the driver side seat makes. It's driving me crazy! Im going to the dealer next week to have it fixed. Other than that, the truck has been pretty smooth, no complaints.
ggeorgie 11-28-2006, 09:18 PM Hey, Andreas, good to see you are still around, this is the first I see your QX, it's probably the only one there, and a head turner for sure.
Matrix 11-29-2006, 02:42 AM My 04' squeeks, rattles but thats ok because Im always rockn out in there and it is loud....So who can even pay attention to all that noise when I make my own.

Ditto -My 04 Armada is a truck and it is just the way I like it, I just concentrate on that lovely engine rumble and ignore the little stuff that makes no difference to me.
Wildblue 11-29-2006, 03:49 AM No probs with my '06 QX56 yet. Had it about 3 weeks.
I lived near Kaiserslautern from '99 to 2002.

My german is extremely weak. I used a program. :o
MCmada 12-13-2006, 04:56 PM For the most part, my QX doesn't rattle very often. Sometimes is does when I'm on a very bumpy road ( There are alot of those in New Orleans!):)

Hey man. Things getting any better down there? I miss coming down there. It has been a long time since I was down there. I used to hang out at this club called Whispers back in the 90s!
(SORRY TO HI-JACK THIS THREAD!)
MCmada 12-15-2006, 05:18 PM Its improved, but not signifigantly. The neighborhood I grew up in is still totally wrecked up. The French Quarter and most of the downtown district are finefor the most part. Progress is slow but I have high hopes!:)
BlakSpyda 12-15-2006, 05:27 PM I am always praying for all of the folks down there.
Well I got high hope that it will return to be what it was and better. I am planning on spending some time (and money) down there within the next two years.
Andreas 12-29-2006, 08:06 PM @ ggorgie
well, I´m deffnetly not the only one her in Germany with a QX.
Last week a guy from Nürnberg called me and asked for wintertires for his QX and that he bought some 20´s.
I sugested him Cooper Discoverer MS 275-60-20 which should be 1,2% bigger than stock.
2 days later he mailed me that he got those coopers and they are too big.
He could not turn the front wheels without touching the (how do you call it - we call it.) wheelhouse.
Any solutions?
BlakSpyda 12-29-2006, 10:49 PM Wheelwell.
The solution is a lift kit if he wants to keep those tire -or- get smaller tires. I am looking for the tire/wheel calculator. When I find it I will post the link!
Here they are. The first one is the best! This is the calculator I used to by my tires and rims.
