I'm ready to install a new exhaust system and had my mind set on the Gibson CAT back. Over the last few days I read the threads Jason B started on the availability of the 22" magnaflow muffler. $350 vs. $85 is a huge difference and would pay for another mod like the rear spoiler! So I need your opinions..........Should I stick with the Gibson System or just install the magnaflow muffler with a nice stainless tip.

I voted mangnaflow. Thats a real good price and those are supposed to give decent preformance especially for being an $85.00 mod, plus it gives you room in the budget for additional mods which is always good imo.

Leave me out, I think the stock set-up is loud enough, the 04 Armada has the least amount of sound-deadening. As far as the lack of response to this post, maybe others like myself realize the Armada stock exhaust is not that bad (restrictive) for OEM and are spending their money elsewhere. My Armada is almost used purely for towing and the last thing I (or my neighbors) want is an obnoxious loud/droning exhaust. I grew-up (literally) during the golden muscle car era and all it took was a couple trans-continental trips in a loud GTO to cure me of having loud exhaust systems in my regular driver. This is just my $0.02, hope you can find a compromise you can live with over the long term. Good luck.

i also trying to figure out what system to get.. does the magnaflow give enough of a performance boost for such a cheap price or is it just a loud muffler?? I know the catback would provide more horses but if the magnaflow can save $300+ only to lose 5 hp it definitly seems worth it....

Try this link (http://www.clubtitan.org/forums/showthread.php?t=13250&highlight=exhaust+findings)
It has exhaust findings and shows real world numbers based on one of CT's members dyno tests

I dont know about the armada, but on my titan the magnaflow muffler replacement made a huge difference over stock and wasnt much louder. I currently have the gibson on b/c I wanted the dual rear pipes.

I'm going to put on the Magnaflow this month. I'm not too worried about the noise since none of the "noisy" mods I've done so far have bothered me even a little.
I can't wait to see what the new muffler does! Then if I can find someone to do the timing advance, I'll be ready to do some 1/4 mile road-trips;)

yeah i like the dual pipe design but i read on one of the thread about the possibility of excessive heat near the spare tire and differential since the driver side pipe has to cross over b/c it is not a OEM design?? is that a problem??

I rode in a Titan a year ago that had only replaced the muffler with a magnaflow. Not sure if it was this exact model. It sounded great! The Titan owner wasn't looking for any gains, just wanted a great sound. that's exactly what he got. When he pulled into the Nissan dealership for a service, all of the service writers came over to check it out.
Best $100 he ever spent.

Honestly, heat has never been a problem. I put the system on at 5k miles and now have 56k on the odometer and the spare is good, the clearance is pretty good!
