: "other forums" rant...
razzlee 01-09-2007, 01:33 PM I love my Armada. I think this goes without saying. I do, however, have other interests besides my truck and I want to look at other forums on the internet for such interests. I guess because CA/CT were the first online forums that I became a member of, this is the format that I prefer....buuuuttttt......
It seems like EVERY other forum that I look at is jumbled and full of people who care more about correcting the way people post than on the content of the thread!
On one forum that I lurk on, (I won't become a member) people are actualy talking about making it manditory to do a topic search before each new thread is started!
so, without writing a book on this subject...
Club Armada ROCKS! You people are great! m4ck and BiXLL should teach a class on running an online forum. There, I feel better.:D
inqui-Z-tor 01-09-2007, 01:51 PM I think (believe) the reason for CA/CT "friends-n-family" community nature is because it's relativey new-ness (along with our trucks). CA/CT is growing as the numbers of members grow and the excitement is shared by all of us.
I too frequent "other forums" .. not Armada/Titan related. They're set-up and "ambiance" can not compare with what we have here.
Kudos to all members of CA/CT ....
ggeorgie 01-09-2007, 02:29 PM I third that.:D :D
eurohazard 01-09-2007, 03:00 PM Don't get me wrong. I love Club Armada.......and the people and environment are cool as hell.
However we probably could learn a bit from other forums. Obviously it is retarded to make a search "mandatory" before every new thread addition.......but it doesn't hurt. I mean how many "which exhaust should I buy" or "which intake should I buy" threads does there need to be?
You'll NEVER hear me complain about this site or Club Titan.......but a little constructive criticism is validated on occasion.
esMada 01-09-2007, 03:48 PM Sometimes when "newbies" , like myself, post a thread and it has been posted before then make us aware of it. We do the search and sometimes you find a hundred threads about a certain question, but yet it never gets answered. If you find the answer on previous thread, then post it for us and that will be the end of the thread. I know members like blakspyda, razlee etc. are very good at this and like to help.
Someone before mentioned that the "newbies" should post more threads, well that is why we don't... we're worried about if it was posted before. CA veterans know about most, if not all the topics posted before. The newbies don't. Have patience with us.

I know what you're saying ... I've been "there" on both sides of those (and similar questions) on other forums. Example .. when I 1st joined the 300zx (84-89 years) forums .. I noticed a "low tolerance" over questions regarding "wheels" and "bodykits". So I combined all the information, that was previoulsly posted and created web page(s) to answer those questions (my contribution to the forums) .. maintain them as needed. I was fortunate to find others that host the websites for me.
I'd like to see a combined "exhaust" or "intake" site to where pictures, installation tips, models and pros vs cons, technical reviews etc .. can be found w/links to CT/CA sponsors (if warranted) can be found.
Oh .. I'm NOT dis-agreeing with you .. helpful/constructive criticism can be beneficial ..
ggeorgie 01-09-2007, 04:13 PM I think its really awesome, how here and at CT, both sites a very friendly, even if a newbie had to post a new thread which has been posted before, its always good to see people come out and help. keep on posting whether it's new or old.
BlakSpyda 01-09-2007, 04:14 PM I don't mind if the question gets asked by lurkers and newbies. If I know the answer, I'll get it to 'em! Searching would help, but what the hell, that's what we do here.
razzlee 01-09-2007, 06:29 PM I was the one who suggested that new mwmbers post more often. I, for one, will answer the exhaust question every single time it's asked. If newbies don't post, we don't get to meet them. If we don't meet them, we can't get together and show off our trucks:D
Plus, some newbies aren't just new to CA, but to online forums and the internet. I had never even visited a forum before Club Armada. I am fairly computer savy though and I figured things out.;)
92TripleBlack 01-09-2007, 06:56 PM See, I'm not really a grinch in the grand scheme of things after all. ;) I hang on a couple of other good forums as well, one for vettes, and another for Audio/Video equipment as I'm planning a new Home Theatre so I'm doing my research.

sinnerFA 01-10-2007, 06:51 AM I am going to pull the UK parliament status quo of quotes for the CT/CA forums and the good things that others have stated....
"Here-Here!"
