Are you talking about the rotors?? if so Nissan has changed the specs on the rotors for 04 and early 05, if your brother in law have the final brake fix, then he should have the same new rotors for 06.

Its hard to tell the difference when the parts are in the vehicle. The rotors are the same diameter and thickness, and the calipers are the same. There is a difference in the construction of the rotors that you can see in the attached picture. The pads are the same size, but are made with different friction material, and the caliper mounting hardware is slightly different.
legendmanbilly69 01-26-2007, 07:04 PM no, we look very closely and we know for sure that the diameter, pads, and calipers are not the same. If you guys happens to be at dealers next time, take a look for youself.
scr38 01-26-2007, 10:23 PM The brake rotors are exactly the same size on the 04s through the 07s. The diameter of all rotors on the Armada (and Titans) is 12.6". The front rotors are 1.02" thick and the rear rotors are .55" thick. The fronts are ventilated and the rear are not. The calipers have not changed, but the torque members (caliper mounting brackets) have. The pads have new friction material, but are the same size.
As you can see in the photo of the rotors that I posted, the diameter and width is the same. The newer rotors have a narrower vent slot, and the thickness of the sides has changed so they are now equal thickness.
You can check out the brake specs at http://www.nissanhelp.com/Models/2007/Armada/Description.htm

Did he buy his used? maybe the dealer or previous owner changed the entire assembly?
legendmanbilly69 01-26-2007, 11:47 PM he bought his used, i will at the dealers wednesday, I will ask the service people and maybe i can see one on the used lot and compare. Did the dealer upgraded the brakes from when the armada first came out when customers compaint of brake problems? Maybe he still have the originals.
razzlee 01-27-2007, 12:01 AM it's not the original breaks. I'm suggesting that they changed out everything in the break assembly before there was a break fix available and went with something aftermarket.
I think your on the right path asking the dealer what the service record is for the breaks.
razzlee 01-27-2007, 12:03 AM Oh yeah, Welcome to Club Armada;)
scr38 01-30-2007, 12:10 AM I was at my dealer today. I asked the parts man to look up the part numbers for the brakes on the Armada. He confirmed that the brake size has not changed. The rotor part number changed in the spring of 05 when they went to the improved rotor. All part numbers since then are the same, including the 07s.
92TripleBlack 02-01-2007, 11:38 PM Basically just rotors and pads are the only major differences. The calipers should be the same.
