I just was greated by this wonderful Service Engine Soon fault code
U 1000 according to the one table I used to crossreference the error it says it is a CAN* Comm component error

Any idea what this is?

"CAN" stands for "Control Area Network". Sounds like there might be a communication problem in the Computer's Data BUS (Similar to the BUS on a MotherBoard in a PC). If you're lucky, the problem might be just an ECM Ground Problem but it sounds more like a trip to the Dealership to me. I would just let a Service Tech fix it.

Thanks....it sounds like I need to make a call and schedule the Appt...Luckily I am still under warrantee.:)

I was hoping it was somethig simple that I could handle without the trip...
