: New car for me?

No, not trading in the Armada.
I am selling the vette. Then, I'm shopping.
I"m contemplating giving the girl the G35 and getting me something for work.
I"m only looking at Big boy cars.
Some ideas:
2008 vette convertable. They are upgrading to 450 HP stock in 2008.
2006 Vette. Will be cheap with the new '08s. Save money for more toys.
2008 Shelby GT 500
2006 Z06 used.
Used Viper.

Any ideas?

IMO: The Vette is still one of the best cars for the $$$.

Viper usually gets annoying after a few months and can still get toasted by a Vette.

Shelby GT 500 is a great sports car but still not as good as a Vette.

Z06 is nice but an '08 would probably be nicer.

Get the new G ;) haha. Anyways, I say '06 'Vette b/c the remainder cash can be easily used for modding it heavily..I just saw a modded '06 vette today actually..slightly lowered, black-on-black, really nice rims, 8000K HIDS..looked amazing!

I'd say get the 2008 Shelby GT 500. Not many of these on the road. You would be in an exclusive class. I'm not a fan of American cars... I've never owned one but something about the Shelby sparks my interest.

wish my Mustang was the 500

Wow TB, that's a good looking list! I say go with the '08 vette, and here's why:

1) If you can swing the latest and greatest...DO IT! You don't get many chances to get the "hot new thing," and really, how often do you get to buy a new car. I have a feeling if you want some new toys you'll find a way to make ends meet;)

2) If you get you're new-to-you '06 vette will it eat away at you thinking about that naturaly aspired 450HP that you could have had? I know, I know no matter what, eventualy something better will come out...but you 'll have bragging rights until that happens!

3) If you weren't already seriously thinking about getting the '08 you would have left it off the list.

4) If you went with the GT500 you would have to change your screen name!!! LOL:D

I'm glad you are keeping your Armada...I've learned a ton from you and I would hate to have to go trolling those damn Chevy forums looking for you!!

!!!!!!!!! ME TOO !!!!!!!

My personal opinion is that going from a Vette to a Mustang is a tough move. Don't take me wrong, I LOVE the GT500. It's just that there is not really anything under $80k that has the handling and traction of a Vette.

GT500 is a Powerful beast but try to keep those rear tires glued to the pavement on a winding road. Not to mention the gas milage. Doesn't the GT500 get like 10-mpg?

450-bhp... Imagine after modding....

Maybe spend $25K on a stock Mustang GT, then spend the rest on mods and make your own GT500 / Vette killer.

Guess I'll need to test drive. I've had the vette and 3 mustangs in the past. At least I have a couple months before I need to make any decisions. ;)

I think I would choose the Mustang (see sig), but for a few different reasons.

1. Reading some of the car magazines, they have almost the same performance, which you will be hard pressed to take either car to their limits on the street.
2. The Vette is more expensive.
3. When youre on the street, youre not sure what the "other" guy has under the hood.
4. He is not sure whay "you" have under the hood.
5. In the end, the Mustang will be more valuable.

Just my opinion.

Hey TB, if your going to go with the Corvette, how about this black 2007 Corvette Victory Edition? Pretty sweet!

Interior of the Shelby is 10 times more refined. Plus, its a classic. No offense, esMada.

I would keep the vette and the G35, and the VW, and finish furnishing that big space of yours. ;)

For what it's worth...I know you must have read the Motor trend cover artical when they tested the Vette, Viper and Mustang. All 500hp. All Bad-A$$ cars. After I read it I wanted that Vette!! And I'm a Viper fan:D

Sell the G too and get a new Z06. Z06 will kick the stuff out of pretty much any car at any price. Or drop a supercharger in the Armada, and get the new G.
my 2 cents.

Just about there. I need 2 wall units, 1 pool table, 1 pub table with 2 chairs, 1 king mattress, a fountain, and art. Figure I can have this done by summer.

I've gotten 5 barstooks. 120" dining room table with 10 chairs, 2 Natuzzi setionals, coffee table. stereo, side bar, breakfast nook table with 8 chairs, office desk and chair, 5 bar stools, vanity bench, outdoor furniture, 4 bedroom sets, plantation shutters, curtains, pots, addional light fixtures, and stuffed the garage with tools, mowers, etc. Not bad for 9 months.
Here's some updated pics.
Office desk, dining room, kitchen, living room with pool out back, and family room.

instead of buying a car off your list, why not get something that every other doctor/lawyer in town has? if you're leanin toward a mustang, check the roush 427R, or a saleen (i love the parnelli jones rep). or go for a pontiac gto with the ligenfelter blower (nearly 600hp). any of these cars can be had for much less than a z06, and are a little different. right now i'm lookin for a 2003-04 mustang cobra. i know, its a little run of the mill, but i dont have that kinda cash!!!! good lcuk man. nice crib for sure.
