Post install of the single-out cat-back Gibson on my 04 Armada 2WD.

The system sounds great and I’ve noticed quite a bump in the throttle response.

I thought I had it installed just right, but I’ve noticed a few things post install. Just wanted to see if these were common occurrences. I plan on having it welded up this weekend and want to make sure I have it installed right before hand.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

1. When installing the front pipe to the CATs it did not align perfectly. It didn't take much to get each side on and tightened, but it seemed tighter than I expected. Is this common?

2. If properly installed how close should the pipe be from the spare tire? I've noticed that it runs real close after the system heats up.

3. I’ve also noticed a vibration that comes and goes at idle when I have a passenger in the car. This also happens after the system heats up. I’m assuming I need to fine tune the fit over the rear axle and frame rail.

3. Can anyone share a picture of where the pipe exits on the rear of their vehicle? Mine seems to be to far forward and I noticed this evening that the rear AC unit may end up dripping in the Stainless tip.

4. The vehicle seems to idle higher after the install. I'm assuming that this will settle out after a few more miles.

Again.. The systems sounds great, I just want to make sure I have it installed right..

1) Mine was also a bit tight at the cats, but with minor tugging and pushing in the right areas, mine slipped on, and bolted up.

2) Mine was pretty close, but not much more so than the factory if memory serves.

3) The vibration might be exhaust leaks. Mine leaks.

3 *again*) lol Are you seeing water come from the exhaust pipe? That's normal (stock or aftermarket). It's not the AC unit.

4) It seemed to idle higher to me to, but I don't think the idle is actual any higher. IMO it's the freer flowing exhaust that you now hear making it seem like a higher rpm. But I'm not positive.

I don't have pics of my installation. I left the "tip" off, so not to draw attention from unsuspecting "racers"! lol But good call on getting it welded up. I just haven't found the time to do mine yet (ie I'm lazy) ;)

Thanks for the reply.

No water coming from the exhaust.. The tip just sits right under the drain hole for the rear AC.. Heading to the shop right now so I'm going to see if they can move it around...

I am looking to install this exhaust in my 07. Can you tell me how much louder the sound is inside the car?
Are you experiancing any drone? I am looking for something a little louder than stock under normal loads and with no droan. We make several trips per year to Colorado and going over some of the high passes last year my 03 POS Tahoe was terible. We will be trying it with the Mada in June and I want to have the exhaust installed before we go.

There is some drone, but really just at about 56-60 mph is when I hear it the most. It's not bad in my opinion, but it is there. I've also already added the Volant CAI, so under throttle all I can hear is the intake...

There is a good write up on exhaust on the titan forum
